Im getting the "Ultimate" Jack Sparrow 1/6 figure next week and I would like to make a diorama for it, similar to that one for Bruce Lee Game of Death from Enterbay. A good 14"-15" inches diorama/backgroud based from the movies would be good. Any ideas people? Thank you!

Jonny on the mast would be very iconic especially if you have the figure standing on the mast and have the mast dissappearing into plastic fake water

My advice is to scout locations around your area and take pictures of potential backdrops. You can always enlarge the pictures at photo shops and you could always do research to see who can do that around your area. A buddy of mine had a similar dilemma but couldn't find anything, so he took pictures of the sky and had them enlarged for a backdrop for a Superman that he picked up (it was either the DCD or HT version). It looked really good for a background display. I thought of it immediately as soon as I saw the thread.

I have to say that mast idea is fantastic. If I had a sparrow figure that's how I'd do it... iconic AND funny :lol

I might do a Will Turner headsculpt from this Legolas when it's finished, are there even any 12" Will Turner figures to use it on?

Zizzle makes one, along w/ a Jack. pretty crappy but worth the $20 bucks just for the clothing. worst part are the bodies and the boots. hard boots are made/molded as part of the leg. i've seen some good customs using them tho. Les i believe used a Jack.

oh and the mast idea rocks! but which is the "Ultimate" 1/6 Jack? i'm assuming Medicom?

Yeah on another thread I talked about making the mast of the ship disappearing into the water similar to my custom Jason lake pier I made a while back.

Thanks for the input guys. Anyone here needs a job? Make me a mast similar to that one from POTC 1.

The "Ultimate" Jack Sparrow is a modified Medicom.

Thank you

I had the same idea for a Jack Sparrow display... mast is made... but still trying to figure out the best method of creating the water... a couple ideas in mind... need to figure out which looks the best.

Try Woodland Scenics Realistic Water over a dark blue surface, works great

Because the water in that scene is rippled vs. mirror "flat," I would sculpt the surface in putty or Celluclay, paint it in the color of the harbor water, and then apply multiple polymer coating, varnish or clear laquer. It looks like an interesting subject based on this image:

Can I commission someone to make me something like that? in 1/6 scale. Just part of the mast, not the whole thing.

To make the project manageable, you should probably go with an image of the mast after the sails have sunk below the water - right before he hops off onto the pier.

Well, all they announced was that they have the At World's End license ... so technically they don't have to make a Jack ... but COME ON! That better be the first one they announce :D

I'd consider buying/customising a decent Jack figure to give myself an excuse to build this.......

I'd think about doing it for you but I've got a waiting list of about two and a half months at the moment, so I'm sure someone else less busy could do it sooner.
