As a follow up to the "Big Boss vs. Solid Snake" thread from several months ago, I thought that this would make for a good follow-up discussion/debate :lol.

So, given the choice of Big Boss and Solid Snake, who do you believe is the true villain of MGS? I voted for Solid Snake.

On paper it's Snake, but I think it's got to be Big Boss since his ridiculous story has put the series in complete disarray.

Solid Snake without a doubt. Hes not a "villain" but at the end of every single one of his games he finds out that he killed the person who wanted true freedom.

You just voted for Kojima :rotfl.

Bad luck Snake, I still consider him a hero

But, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Simply wanting to do good, doesn't make someone a hero. I'd say that the end results of their actions matter the most.

No comment, I'll just assume you are right since MGS was the last game of this franchise that I played :lol plus that makes sense, it always happened its part of human history

Konami, for forcing Kojima to make more games beyond MGS2.

Yu. RIP Liquid and Solidus.
He lives on, as an awesome PAK figure, a chicken in MGS4 and a fellow board member on Sideshow. Good enough for me.

"La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo?" What are you talking about?

I don't think snake is a villain, he's just another pawn.
BB is a good guy, Kojima has repeatedly showed it :nana:

Man, Solid Snake. What a douche. For the last 15 years he has denied us freedom and killed thoes who tried to get it for us. But because we played as him we feel we are in the right, were not.

Solid is gone anyway. Im more interested in Raidens "what will you do from here?" smirk at the end of Revengence

I never understood why anyone would want to live in a Outer-Heaven/Haven kind of world. Isn't that pretty much the Military economy portrayed in MGS4? If you ask me, had Big Boss never made MSF none of this would have happened.

The Patriots. Duh.

:exactly:

Yeah, but Big Boss fought against The Patriots (knowing the truth of what was happening), while Solid Snake was simply a misguided pawn, being used his entire life - even in MGS 4. If Snake had just stayed home in Alaska and taken care of his dogs, the world would have been a much better place in MGS :lol.

Well, The Patriots were the ones responsible for the War Economy in MGS 4. Ultimately, Big Boss sought liberation from their control, and he created Outer Heaven as means to an end to achieve it. Also, if Ocelot (who was carrying out Big Boss's will in MGS 4) wanted the world to remain green collar, he wouldn't have done anything to stop The Patriots. He would have just let the world continue the way it was going.

this series doesnt hold a candle to the call of duty or battlefield series. at least theyre innovative. i just dont get it at all.

I seriously can't look at this series without shaking my head, about how ridiculous things have gotten. MGS V looks almost unrecognizable from the trailers. It might as well be a new IP.
