I was logging into my SS account today, and accidentally punched in the wrong password. To my surprise it STILL logged me into my account?. So I logged out again and punched in a random word...which STILL logged me in. I tried this 5 times with all different passwords and every one of them logged me into my account? What the heck is going on. Why am I able to access my account with anything that I punch in as a password :tap

Anyone else having this issue?

Chris

Mine says I entered an incorrect password when I try to log-in with the wrong password. It might just be a cookie that is remembering your log-in. Try deleting cookies from sideshowtoy.com or try logging in with a different browser. If you can still log-in with the wrong password after that, then :horror

Delete your cookies. Close your browser and restart it. Sounds like a just a glitch with your software.

for one second lets pretend that you actually discovered a problem with SSC's system...with this thread you effectively would have advertised to the world that their security system was down.

You should have discretely notified SSC.

Thats was the point, if other people are having the same issue or dont know that they have that issue yet. Dont you think they should know and/or be aware? :cuckoo:

Chris

i'd rather you told SSC about it directly. now you got who knows how many more thousands of people lurking this forum that can go try hacking into accounts.

idk 6 of one half dozen of the other. while informing others that a system flaw is possibly there we can protect our accounts, but also gives knowledge to others that may abuse.

its like exposing a security flaw at an airport.

Well if anything did happen to someones account dont you think SS would tell them when they called them about it?...Dont you think odds are that information is going to hit the forums anyway?. So by staying silent what would I be preventing?

And arent airport security problems usually on CNN withing 4 minutes anyway?

Chris

It would probably better if the info hit the forums after SSC knew about it, and had a heads up before the rest of the world knew.

Same with CNN.

on the airports, why would a layman need to know what a specific security flaw is. isn't it more important that the airport or the security staff know?

on the other hand, someone who has intentions to take advantage of the flaws LOVES the information.

Regardless, it is best that you contact Customer Service directly to have them help you figure out what's going on. Forums are definitely not the best place to troubleshoot this type of thing! I suggest calling before they close for the weekend (in a couple hours) if you haven't already. They can then test the login from their computers and see if they can replicate the issue you are having!

I just tried it, using a PW off by 1 digit and got:

"Oops!

Your password is not correct. "

So it must mean SS doesn't like you.
