why are some SS regular soldout while exclusive still in stock?

The exclusive version is still for sale while the regular is soldout. Am i missing something?

The exclusives are only sold through sideshow where the non-exclusive can be bought and sold on online shops, comic shops, etc so the non exclusives have more outlets to be sold than exclusive. And it they both sel out and then sideshow gets more shippments of exclusives in or people cancelled could be a big reason.

I think cancellations are a huge reason why so many of the exclusives end up on the gift card list or stay in stock so long. Seems that a lot of people would pre order the EX and then cancel once they reveal the edition size. I'm pretty sure this is part of the reason why SSC requires non refundable deposit for most of their statues now.

The deposit works out the best imo. People who actually want the Exclusives will get it and it will likely lower the edition size. Keeps all those folks trying to make a quick buck think twice before they order.

Also, sometimes the 'exclusives' suck.
If the statue is the same price either way, then sure but often they are not worth it.

- exclusive swap out parts for the statue are awesome

- random bits that have nothing to do with the statue, eg. the monkey brains with the Indy ToD statue aren't worth $1 extra...
