Why is 1/4 scale better than 1/5th scale? (That is the majority opinion nowadays)

2 many Gr8 Statues!!!
I am wondering this. Well, my experience, I have a lot of the X-Men Comiquettes: Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Iceman excl, Colossus, Beast, Magik, Angel, also Daredevil and Punisher. The only thing I noticed that seemed to me to be a negative of 1/5th scale is that from across my room my dresser did look very cluttered.

I like the fact that you can display more 1/5th scale pieces but... I think when viewed from a little bit of distance 1/4 look much better. That is the only reason I can think of that makes 1/4 scale better. Any other opinions?

I mean the detail on 1/5 scale is no worse.

Actually to further prove my point what if instead of displaying 6 1/4 scale pieces or 10 1/5th scale pieces I displayed 30 of my 7 inch DC Unlmited WOW PVC figures. That would look terrible from the other end of my room or even a little distance away.

Because 1/4 has been the defacto default scale for a while, so people view 1/5 as a format that just doesn't fit.

I love statues based on what they are rather than scale, with the X-Men line the 1/5 was different for a reason. 1/4 was old school costume statues and 1/5 were new school statue costumes, there was room for both.

1/4 scale has more presence, which is a large part of the appeal of statues to me. If I want something smaller, then I get articulated figures.

1/4 definitely has a better presence in rooms and are a lot more noticeable. That being said, I find that they have a lot more details to enjoy as well. There are some great characters that EB and Sideshow are making right now so I'm 1/4 all the way.

It's nice to see Hot Toys joining the party as well, I just hope that they're 1/4s aren't riddled with QC issues like I found with a lot of their 1/6s.

Displaying 1/4 next to 1/5 looks off and there is no real need for Sideshowt to have 2 scales. So the coms rot in the warehouse.
