Hopefully the show will take off and we will finally get another Eliza sculpt.

If so, how many of us will buy 2 Echo figures for a replacement Faith?

Heroes. :monkey2

That's a pretty definitive answer Dave, I know they've said no Firefly but when did they say no to the rest???

aint gonna happen but of course id buy a better faith head sculpt. faith is one of the few buffy figs i want but ill never buy cuz she looks so bad. plus id be compelled to get the exclusive cuz i need that scythe but i aint paying that much for a bad figure. no way.

Wow, that sucks. Especially the firefly part for me. But I do hope that they consider Dollhouse. You just never know with SSC though.

I wouldn't buy two though. They are getting too pricey for that.

No.

They won't do Farscape, Heroes, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, or Firefly either.

They will rarely go on record as saying they won't do a license, but it's pretty obvious that these aren't going to happen. And I think their head of licensing may have even said that they are not pursuing Firefly or Serenity at this time in one of the Ask Sideshow or License threads on this board.

Crappy, crappy, crappy. That's all I have to say about the Firefly/Serenity thing. I wouldn't mind a Heroes license. I really need to get back into watching that show.

Anyways...back to dollhouse...guess we can just annoy the heck out of SS until they either do it or just flat out say no to us. :)

Won't as in they just won't or as in can't get the license or as in they just have no interest in doing them? Won't and no interest can go hand in hand i guess, although I think thats fairly stupid. Can't seems like a real miss for at least a couple of long, lamented missing licenses.....

SS will never say "no" to anything. it's kinda their policy.:lol that why they'll never admit a line is dead. they say it's on "hiatus". thats the SS term for "this line is over".

I'm guessing that most of it is "no interest". They are big enough now that most everyone comes to them first (aside from Warner Bros.), but they have only so many resources to devote to each line. It doesn't make sense to devote a lot of development time to a line that takes a lot of resources (such as 12" and PF) unless they can only sell a small number of pieces.

The days of Sideshow doing cult lines is over. The only reason they did Shaun of the Dead was to support their zombie line. I doubt something like Dollhouse is even on their radar.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see if someone else [like AmokTime] can step up and fill the void once again. Farscape and Firefly would make excellent additions to any collection.

I just had a D’Oh! moment, thanks to this.

Not to reopen a semi-old debate, but you know, I’d been kind of fishing around for a term for these quirkly little licenses that I would love to have official product for, but look like longshots for whatever reason—Farscape (drool), BSG, Dr Who, the various Star Treks, Stargate, Supernatuaral, etc. etc.-–and that word “cult” is perfect. And yeah, although I’m reluctant to admit it and still would be hesitant to do it, I can see squeezing the Whedonville licenses into that, even though Buffy and Angel if not Serentity at least have obtained a lot more than cult status. I’d have to agree, though, the current state of the B/A license would warrant a downgrade from mainstream to cult that would probably justify it.

Anyway, just thinking out loud.

it's the fans fault and not SS's if you ask me. buffy fans whine more than SW fans IMO. they whined for years for a giles and cordellia and when SS finally delivered them they werent satisfied. they ended up sitting on the shelves and i think giles is still for sale. i thought giles and cordellia were some of the best figures in the line.

I agree. I wanted them both, and I came thru for SS. I have them on my shelves. I love them. I am peeved that people don't come thru for SS when SS comes thru for them. But there are also alot of people who'd love to collect and don't know about SS. I had only heard about them a couple years ago.

By the time Cordy and Giles came along it was too late, Sideshow had already made too many missteps. The subpar Willow and Faith figures did a lot of damage and people got tired of seeing second tier characters released ahead of their favorite core characters. It's unfortunate that interest was gone by the time the Angel line rolled around because they were actually handling those releases really well.

That sucks because I'm just now watching Angel and I would've bought a figure of Gunn.
