Yesterday I got the Spider-Woman LSB.

This bust is a thing of beauty, but as you can see, it looks as though she has a couple of chipped teeth. Not the most becoming feature for a bust of a lady, I'm sure you'll agree. Especially one without pupils to hold your attention.

The weirdest thing about it, though, is that both on the bottom of the inner box and and on the base the number is 147/200. Now, the edition size for the exclusive is 200, while that of the regular is 300. I ordered a reg piece, and as a matter of fact, it didn't come with the name plate, even though there seems to be a hollowed-out space for it on the polystyrene, complete with the small indentations meant for that particular nameplate. I don't know whether both the reg and the ex come with this depression or not, but it came empty anyway.

The inner box doesn't have the Exclusive sticker on the sides, but the ES sticker on its base could have easily been replaced. As a matter of fact, it looks a bit crumpled on one end.

What puzzles me, though, is that the brown shipper box clearly states it's NOT an exclusive either, and the usual felt-tip pen-written ES number on it is 147 too, with no signs of anyone having crossed out a previous number or anything. It's a clean 147 right there where it should be.

But something else is making me wary here - there was no yellow QC sticker to be found. What I did find was quite a bunch of unidentified hair on the polystyrene, not to mention there was some sort of soft smudge grease on one of the cheeks, all of which has me thinking this has been displayed before.

So there you have it. Do you think I've been sold a gold brick? This came from the same foreign ebay/online store to whom I had previously sent a PF back, though I'm sure that once they weren't to blame.

This time, though, I really think I've been had.

Suggestions, please?

My Dentist friends would say her bite is a little off, but I don't see the chipped teeth you speak of.
The little cavity bottom left bothers me!!! and would prompt ME to contact customer service to resolve. Maybe a future discount ? which leaves you to your own devices...an easy fix with paint.
If that is a hole, or gap and not just a paint error, I would send it back.

Anyone else?

If there is quite some dirt and/or hair in the box and too much ducttape without a yellowQC sticker; it sounds like a returned piece to me.

"sort of soft smudge grease on statue" Some of mine did have that as well. Often it is some leftover factory glue stuck on one of the employees fingers (glue which they use during manufacturing of the statues, e.g. base decorations and/or sculpted hair on the head). Very annoying when that happens.

About the empty slot in the styrofoam box; If you know that the ES No is always written with "the usual felt-tip pen-writting" than you should know also that all styrofoam boxes are the same for regular and exclusives, bcs it is cheaper to produce and more convenient for packaging department.

A chipped tooth, a cavity, whatever - it's still ugly as sin. :)

Well, I don't know. Would a paint error leave such a hole? I mean, there should be something there for paint to be applied however badly, right? All I see is a hole there. :gah:

Did you get it direct from Sideshow?
Nope. From a French online/ebay shop.

Good to know that, thanks.

That makes sense, obviously, but I'm pretty sure that's not always the case. I distinctly remember seeing at least one figure whose styrofoam box was plain for the reg right on the spot the Exclusive had something extra.

Anyway, thank you all.

Putty (epoxy) it and paint over (if colours don't match)..... Dentist do it all the time in live patients (epoxy)... you may request a little from your dentist on your next visit.
