Interesting....
You might remember the literary mashup Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith that was big enough last year to launch an entire genre of 19th century classic literature / monster concoctions-- well that Jane Austen tale of the undead is being made into a movie, with Natalie Portman in the lead role. The lead human role, not zombie. Though she would make one sexy zombie.

From Gawker:
Now Portman is starring as Elizabeth Bennet in the zombie flick/period piece adaptation which is being produced by her company, handsomecharlie, and director Richard Kellys' Darko Productions. Funniest thing is what Portman's handsomecharlie partner, Annette Savitch, said about the project: "The idea of zombies running rampant in 19th Century England may sound odd, but it lends a modern sense of urgency to a well known love story."
