this thread could pertain to anything that you have regretted as a collector. for me atleast, my number one regret isn't that i started collecting...although my wallet and bank account might think so, but here's the list:

5: not buying HT's Mark I when i had the chance to buy it at retail

4: chipping a corner off of my d.vader bust

3: not joining rpf sooner

2: letting go of that life size R2 i saw at a auction

1: buying anything made from rubies with the notion that it's going to arrive as it looks in the pics without any mods.

i hear you on the last one bro, my wife has broken stuff too. my kid is also getting ready to walk, so im scared crapless right now.
 
1) selling DX Batman for retail
2) selling DX Joker for retail
3) selling 2 Mech Test Tony Stark figures for around $100 each
4) selling Blade for $100
5) buying thousands of comic books in the 1990s

Primary lesson: don't sell anything
Secondary lesson: break Rob Liefeld's legs

5. Collecting Gentle Giant, although I am happy to have finally received my last Harry Potter student today. Done.

4. Passing on the opportunity to buy a bronze Grendel, although I did correct that situation a mere six months later.

3. Finding Sideshow in the waning days of Universal Monster products, not that I own any now.

2. Parting with my SSE diorama collection, for fear of not being able to secure the next piece which I did not know would be the last.

1. Trading ASM 129 for Gold Foil Star Wars Dark Empire comics! WTF was I thinking?

When I was 10 or so, my friend's dad gave me a copy of Silver Surfer #1 (from the '60s). My much older cousins conned me into trading it for a few issues of Longshot :slap:slap:slap

I'm still mad at those _______s for taking advantage of me that way.

  1. Selling my Red Skull #7 EX PF to buy the Count Dooku PF that I turned around and sold at a loss
  2. Selling my HT Leons (luckily, a fellow board member sold me an RPD Leon at a great price, so he is back in my collection)
  3. Not buying the Doom EX when I could have got him for retail
  4. Buying the Captain America regular instead of the EX when he was originally released

5. passing on a 1963 MINT Gibson Thunderbird for $1300.


what they say is true… the things one didn't do are the real regrets. granted, i was very young and cash strapped… but perhaps if only i tried a little harder...
