Yeah, I just don't want him to under estimate the Dude. A lot of his other figures either haven't been as highly demanded or were already made before. The Dude hasn't been done before and there is certantly a lot of demand for it, especially now that Bridges is such a big name right now.

I completely agree with you! I already think this will be Rainman's most successful figure and I do feel 30 fullsets would sell aswell as the head and clothing sets

Love the film and Rainman but this will be a maybe for me as i don't see it being a character that really requires a figure.

Maybe not even the clothing set !. The Coen brothers are my favorite film makers and The Big Lebowski my favorite comedy. This is a must for me really , I'm going to have to try and sell something soon.

I understand that people are worried about securing one of these, but just because this is a more popular character than some of Rainman's previous releases, that doesn't mean we should start questioning his methods. Believe me, I would love to plop down a deposit or have Rainman personally assure me that I've got one reserved, but that's not gonna happen, and I'm not about to hold it against him.

Is $700 his going rate? If so, I would rather just get a custom head painted and do a Dude-ish custom figure of my own. I've bought some crazy expensive things in my day, but that much for a 1/6 scale figure is not gonna happen.

Yes I would say $650-700 is the going rate, and with the interest in this, $700 seems likely. Especially with "alot of accessories" as Rainman put it!

This is seriously a must have for me now that I know its sculpted hair, if I miss this, I will likely sell the majority of my collection to try to get one on the secondary market. I already have the money in my paypal account ready to go, no fumbling switching it to Credit Card.

Getting a headsculpt and clothes set works out to about half that cost though, and you get to choose your repainter which is the biggest benefit in my opinion. You do miss out on the limited secret item, but half the time they are non-essential anyway.

While I love Rainman's works (I have all 3 Fight Club sets), I won't be going after this one. However, I agree that this one will be a huge seller and that he should consider making 40 sets.

Why not have a NON-REFUNDABLE (under ANY circumstances) amount of say, $200. Then if someone drops out, he won't be completely screwed.

I agree. A few people in fear of missing out have called for more to be made with each release but between the full sets and head/clothing sets I don't think there has been a person who tried to purchase one but missed out. And I've seen every release offered up for sale again either here or on ebay, so I'd say Rainman has been just about right in selecting the number to make. And I think it's really premature to call for to be made when there isn't even a finished prototype to be seen.

A lot can change in a month's time. With upcoming releases from Hot Toys and the likes.
