Machida will most likely step in. Going to derail one of the two title hopes. Really like both guys, but Rashad deserves the title shot and is getting screwed over left and right.

Rashad deserves the title shot and is getting screwed over left and right.

Really? I think him not getting his title shot is due to a series of unfortunate circumstances/decisions and TBH all of them are 100% on Rashad.

Evans decided to wait on Shogun to have surgery/heal up and a month out from the event he injured his knee in training. So Jones got the shot instead.

Can't blame anyone for that. Injuries happen.

Then after Jones won and announced a possible injury instead of sitting it out like before, Evans decided to take the fight with Davis. After that fight was already signed Jones/The UFC announced that Jones' injury wouldn't keep him out of action like they all thought so Rampage got the nod.

Again, can't blame anyone for that besides Rashad. He had the option to wait it out to see how serious Jones' injury was and chose not to.

And even now with Davis' injury if Machida steps in and ends up beating Evans again and gets the next title shot there's no one to blame for that besides Evans. For losing.

Or am I not seeing something!? Because you're not the only person I've seen that's said that about Rashad. So I'm curious.

Rashad has been a big factor in every outcome you listed but he is the #1 contender and has been for a very long time.

Rashad waited and waited for Rua to heal, he finnally heals then Rashad gets hurts. Nobodys fault but Rashad gets screwed because now he loses his title shot.

Then he has a falling out with his camp (which it sounds like he and Greg had decided on something and Greg didn't honor his word/words) Again only person who loses is Rashad. Neither mans fault on how it happened but nonetheless it still happened.

Rashad gets Jones for the title but Jones says he's injured. Rashad says enough and just says he wants to fight. He signs to fight Phil Davis. Jones goes from being out for a couple months/maybe longer because of a possible broken hand then all of a sudden is cleared to fight/train. Rashad gets screwed out of a title shot.

Rashad gets a up and comer who is good and has a lot of potential but poses little threats to Rashad. It looks like Rashad is going to get this win then fight the winner of Jones/Page (the man who he already beat). Now Phil Davis is injured and withdraws, replacing him is the only man to beat Rashad. Rashad has been planning for a world class wrestler and now gets Machida. Huge difference. Machida has been fighting wrestlers for years and this isnt a big deal for hiim but Rashad on the other hand has a few weeks to figure out whats going to work against MACHIDA.

It's not like the UFC is going out of there way to screw Rashad over because this stuff happens. It's almost more like extremely bad luck, but imma stick with Rashad is getting screwed over.

Yep totally agree, i actually like Rashad but this was all on him for sitting out long long ago. Tough luck for him. We'll see what happens.

I wish they would have moved Franklin to the main event then replaced him with Tito. Machida is the worst matchup for Rashad and on 3 weeks notice.

All in all, glad Rashad isn't off the card all together. It's time for the division to progress.

I can't believe im looking forward to a Tito fight and might even be cheering for him to win. :lol

Talks going on about Penn Vs Condit for UFC 137 — winner getting a title shot. That's a fight I want to see.

Should be a good fight, I think it's Condits time to get his shot.

Oh baby, I can't wait to see Machida KO Evans again.

I'm more interested in a Jones/Rashad match up, I wanna see Jones wreck him. Anyone else notice when Tito took a shot at Jones at the post fight press conference after the win? "I did what Jones couldn't, I finished Bader in the 1st". I know, it's not much, but I was thinking, who the hell does this guy think he is?

Yea I remember hearing that from Tito on multiple occassions throughout the post fight press conference and maybe an interview with Ariel Helwani. He kept talking about wanting big names and to get back to fighting as soon as possible. I read somewhere he was offered the fight but turned it down.

Jones is too classy to respond to a guy that's not even a contender, but Ramp on the other hand :lol, that would be anther dream fight for me to see. Either Jones or Ramp putting Tito into retirement for good :medic

offered to fight who?

So who we looking at as a replacement? I can only see Franklin moving up to main event to fight Rashad and Lil Nog getting someone lesser with some name recognition to have a somewhat alright co main event.

Brandon Vera, Matyushenko, Gustaffson???? I really cant think of anyone who is ready to be in main event/co-main event. UFC is gonna have to pull some strings to salvage this one if Machida really is out.

Bum Franklin up to fight Evans and Matyushenko vs Nog is still a good fight. JMO
