Re: NBA 2012-2013

These calls are ridiculous..."offensive foul" calls, and the CONSTANT flops by Miami...bunch of fraud champs...I can't stand teams like the Lakers but I've NEVER seen Kobe and Shaq play like little b******s....

And these Heat fans are a pretty classless bunch screaming "pacers suck" yet this sucky team took your paper champs to 7 games...show a little respect :cuckoo: but that's what new money gets you I guess......

Spot on.:lecture:exactly:

Re: NBA 2012-2013

This is very difficult for me to say but I hope the Spurs win. Though I really just want a good series.

When I say good luck to the spurs, I mean it. They are gonna need every bounce and loose ball go their way cuz stern is gonna do everything in his power to give Miami the finals. My projection is Miami in 6 games.

Re: NBA 2012-2013

I just don't know if the Spurs have the firepower to match Miami if Miami plays to their fullest capabilities. Also Spurs are gonna have to absolutely hit their 3's. If they are cold, like they tend to get at least 1 game out of every series, then they are a really bad team. They are just not the same team when they miss their outside shots.

It all comes down to Wade imo. He is the X-factor. If he takes nights off, Spurs win. If he plays like he's capable of playing then the Heat should win.

I'll say for the Spurs sake they need to win at least 1 of the first 2 in Miami, 2 of the 3 in SA and then obviously 1 of the final 2 in Miami. If any of those criteria are not met, Spurs will lose.

Lots of variables for the Spurs. My heart says Spurs in 6 because I believe the Spurs can play the way they are capable of playing but sometimes they just look so apathetic and they cannot take any games off in this series. Each game and possession is of utmost importance. But realistically my head says Miami in 7 just simply due to home court advantage and the ref factor in Miami. Hibbert being foul trouble most of the game and George fouling out with 8 minutes left is absolutely ridiculous in a game 7.

Imagine how ridiculous it sounds for a moment if Tom Brady was removed by the refs at the start of a fourth quarter playoff game or Miguel Cabrera being removed by the umps in the 7th inning of a game 7. The NBA refs are a joke and have way too much power.

Re: NBA 2012-2013

The NBA 'thug culture' is another reason why a lot of casual fans don't like the game.

I agree with pretty much everything you said but the NBA is no more thuggish than the NFL imo. In fact I could put together a pretty solid case that the NFL is more "thuggish" than the NBA. NFL players are constantly getting in trouble off the field.

2 things hurt the NBA when compared to the NFL when it comes to image. First, reputation from media bias. The media scrutinizes the NBA a lot more than the NFL imo when it comes to players' troubles and of course, whatever the media says well it must be true because most people are sheep.

And second the fact that NFL players can "hide" their "thuggery" in NFL uniforms, I believe, is an understated but big factor in image. When you see an NBA player the first thing you notice are tattoos, hairstyles, facial and verbal discontent, among other things. You can see very little, to none of that with NFL uniforms and helmets covering 90% of their body. Plus NFL officials are much better at policing on the field behavior than NBA refs are. If you were to cover up 90% of the Birdman you would have no idea how thug he looks until he he took his helmet and uni off.

But make no mistake they're the same kinds of people in both leagues. Just one can hide it better than the other.

You're right, NFL and NBA have the same thug problem but from a public perception, only the NBA does. Like you said, it is all media driven and the mere appearance of the players when they play. Also, not to sound racist in any way, but the NFL has a lot more caucasian stars...brady, both mannings, brees, rivers, rodgers, etc. The league definitely tries to make QBs the face of the sport in the NFL. Even guys like RG3, Russel Wilson, Cam Newton appear to be very clean cut and non "thuggish." Again, this is mostly appearance and how they conduct themselves on the field. In the NBA, you just get a better look at everyone and their tattoos, hairstyles, etc. Unfortunately, this perception isn't going away any time soon. I also think the NFL benefits from having less games which equals less visibility of all the players vs the nba where you see all the guys 82 times.

Re: NBA 2012-2013

If Wade and Bosh play pedestrian, Spurs will no doubt win. I always look at their rebounding numbers to see how involved they actually get in games, but at this point, there is no way to know what they will bring. I think I actually expect SA to win game one. SA has to kill the Heat from 3 like Dallas did, and they sure will jack em up.

Heat in 6. San Antonio has no advantage on the boards. They are just as bad as Miami regarding rebounding. San Antonio has shown a problem matching up with athletic wings which is what Miami is all about. I fully expect bosh to have a monster series.

Gm 1 goes to Miami. Miami is coming off the best game of the last series. Wade showed life. Ray Allen finally found his shot. Spurs have been off for 10 days. They won't be ready for the intensity of the Miami defense. Miami takes it by double digits. Rest of series will be a dog fight.

Rebounding isn't an issue as the Spurs have beaten teams that were better rebounders than themselves in these playoffs. Bosh is a corpse, I don't believe Ray Allen has "found his shot" until he can do it night in night out on a consistent basis. Manu had one great shooting game too and he hasn't done much since.

We know what LeBron can do, the goal is to let him do his thing and make his Cav teammates (see what I did there) beat us. The true x-factor is Wade. If Wade is hurt and can't bring it when the team really needs him (i.e. when they're not blowing a team out by 20 like they were last night) then it's going to be difficult for the Heat to win. The Heat bench has already proven to be extremely inconsistent as the stakes get higher.

The only other advantage the Heat have than I am most fearful of is HCA which is really Home Ref Advantage. Especially if they are gonna fall for this crap:

If you think any of the games are going to be blowouts then you are even nuttier than I thought which I didn't think was possible.

NBA 2012-2013

Did you read what I said?! I told you only the first game would be a blow out. The rest would be dogfights. Ray Allen has had a bad stretch over two weeks. He went 0 for 10 In finals game once and then made 8 in a row from three a game later. He's the best tree point shooter in basketball history. To be honest I'm remiss because I made a mistake when I said he found his shot. Truth he's never lost it. That man is as close to automatic as they come.

Bosh will be strong in this series.

Best part about this jstep is we get to see who is right dont we?! Finally your beloved spurs against the heat. Truth be told the only thing I can guarantee with absolutle certainty is you ll be *****ing about officiating every night.

Do you even understand what you type? You said game 1 would be a blow out. I said you are crazy if you think any games (and game 1 would fall under the any games umbrella) would be a blow out.

And yes, Ray Allen may be one of the greatest "tree shooters" as you stated but so far he hasn't show that consistency and until he does, I'm not concerned with him.

The Heat may very well beat the Spurs but are you really that excited about beating a team at the very, very tail end of a dynasty? With a championship pedigree that LeBron can so far only dream about? Our stars are well past 30 so yeah you may beat us with your so-called dream team but we'll see what LeBron will bring when he's 37, if he's still in Miami which I seriously doubt. When both players were in their prime, we saw what the Spurs did to LeBron.

We'll see if I complain about the officiating, depends on how bad it is, but I do look forward to reading your *****ing about the play-by-play guys supposed bias towards the Heat :lol
