I think that is just the pose/action he is doing. Someone else said it, why would they have two very slightly different suits.In theses photos we would say that the suit has two different colors ( darker and with a dirty look like the first promo pic) and the muscles are more visible

Bigger question is, why include a character like Guy Gardner at all? Gunn must have really wanted a spot for Fillion.

Gunn's whole shtick is showcasing the offbeat parody b-team, and somewhat clowning the classic. which is what Superman will be used for here.
It's almost like people were expecting a straight take on Superman from Gunn? And still don't know what they are looking at?Gunn is likely click-and-paste swapping Giffen,DeMatteis,Maguire, Maxwell Lords off-beat "not-the Justice League" Justice League, with the meta character routines of:
Cap Marvel (the naive (read as out of touch idiot) boyscout) for Superman,
Mr T (the Smart gadget guy) for Batman,
and Guy Gardner as his overbearing self.

Kinda don't like how the whole JL characters so far have matching uniforms with Mr.Terrific. Apparently they are uniforms made by Maxwell Lord and they'll later get their comic accurate ones near the end, and also Superman will get a second more classic suit near the end as well. Since apparently fan backlash to this new suit has Gunn changing ideas, though these are rumors so we won't know until the film is out.
I seriously doubt he'll be getting a new suit at the end. Maybe if this first one looked more homemade or something, but it's already a pretty complex and detailed suit.
Plus Gunn just seems too stubborn to change anything based on fan feedback.
