It will undoubtedly be an improvement. The question will be if it's enough of an upgrade to throw almost £400 at. It's going to have to really wow me to make that happen.

On the other hand, I'm supremely confident of being blown away by an Inart Legolas compared to Asmus' Helm's Deep version.
I imagine if they make all the 5 axes (metal head+ wooden handle+ leather grip on 2 of those) and we finally get a good and movie accurate looking chainmail and rooted beard and rooted hair then my guess is that it will cost at least 550-600$ if not more from Kit.

Hermione is 586$ at Kit.

Once they announce it (2025-2026 or so :D) I will contact Inart regarding details about his costume etc.

Wow, wonder if it's just hair or a repaint as well. Regardless, it shows how strong the sculpt is.
Going to have to disagree. I think he looks horrible in these pics. Someone tried to rehair him and used real hair on his face and made him look worse than the stock sculpt. People should let well enough alone.

That’s a lot of beard.
Closer to his Coronation look than Strider.

An admirable effort but rooting the Strider beard would be a daunting task even at 1/3 scale so the artist was always going to be ice skating uphill.

Yea, the Strider beard should definitely not be rooted. It's too thin/patchy for that. Looks like they did the eyebrows too 🤔

Oddly enough though, I can really see Viggo in the sculpt itself in those pics regardless of the hairwork

Ah should have specified, the 5 o'clock shadow does not work with the rooted hair. I was mostly refering to the hair framing the face better.

Maybe my opinion is in the minority, but so far I just don't see Viggo Mortenson in the sculpt. Regardless of the hairstyle, angle, lighting, etc., there is something significantly off about his face, at least to me.

I've already waited for several series of pictures and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

I always like to compare this with the experience when I unpacked my Inart Gandalf a few months ago. Although he had a hairstyle like a scarecrow's, I immediately recognized Ian McKellen's face.

Please don't misunderstand me, I still think that the Inart Aragorn is a wonderful figure and I will also keep my three rooted preorders :D. But since it's my absolute favorite LOTR character, I'm just a little disappointed that the likeness isn't 100% there.

Well, you're not alone - tho I think it's a very good sculpt especially if the rooted is styled well (and to me at times the sculpted looks better) but IMO he looks too young. Or something. Although from the pics I've seen, from a few feet away it's great.

And dunno when we will get better, in any scale.

Agreed. Aside from the color of the hair, InArt's Thorin appears to be much improved over the Asmus version so I see no reason to think an InArt Gimli wouldn't be an improvent
Well dunno about that IMO Asmus' Thorin is fantastic - sculpt, body, weapons, accessories - and lol I can't bang on this enough - all at the original price point. So much so if IA produces him - did I need more of even my favorite Middle Earth character?

I will, of course, and besides looks like IA plans to include the AUJ cloak, but for twice the price (probably) it had better be "better". Real mohair, etc.

That's funny I def see vigo- but not Ian...
Yeah I still see Robert DeNiro over Ian 😆
I'm with you guys.

Ah the wonders of individual's disparate perceptions of others.
Me too. I still think it's an incredible figure but I prefer the original Asmus Crown version sculpt however the execution, quality and PERS on the production figure was abysmal.
