Glad they’re taking inspo from the first two movies, but considering how the terminator franchise has gone steadily downhill since 2 (I say this as a big fan) I’m not getting my hopes up on it being too great lmao.

I was concerned with the interviewer claiming the showrunner was embracing the horror vibe of the first two films, since the second film is far from horror (making me question the judgment and sense of this guy), but it seems as if that was not actually said by the showrunner.

I'm not going to get super excited about anything like this. History has shown that the most likely outcome is something disappointing and a slap in the face of the original. But you never know. If a Blade Runner sequel can work 40-odd years later, then anything is possible. I certainly don't see guns as essential to telling a good Terminator story.

Indeed. I feel sorry for people that can't appreciate it. Some of the best movies and TV shows of all time are animated.
absolutely. If you had me pick between the Ten Commandments and the prince of Egypt I’d choose the prince of Egypt a hundred times over and I’d choose the lion king original over that crap remake a hundred times over

Spiderman started as a comic, and had a substantial animated output before the modern movies, so (returning it to) animation suits it. Terminator at least for me is different.

Why does it have to be different though? I don’t see why doing it in reverse, so to speak, somehow makes it less enjoyable or valid.

The art direction and tone look on point for Terminator.

I look at it like this. Live action has it's pros and cons and animation does to. In live action everything is real and it's there but it's also limited becuase it's live action. With animation you can play with the world a little bit and test the limits of the story and do more.

Spiderman 2 is my spiderman movie of all time but you can't deny seeing Miles Spiderman jump and swing animated added more to the style.
Also not to mention animated shows can be more violent than anything live action can put out cause you can actually do more. So an animated terminator where body parts constantly fall off and blood goes every where is perfect for animation.
