I thought this one looked cool when they hinted at its release but wasn't sure I'd go for it, just because I already ordered most of the rest of this surprisingly full figure line and there's only so much designated Ahsoka shelf space. But that exposed zombie head sculpt might've just sealed the deal for me, since such a little distinction sets it apart so much from all the other troopers. May have to find room for this one after all.

I don't get it. I thought it was a limited release of 2000 units. Did Sideshow changed their stance on virtual queuing events and moved to a first come first served order window?

It’s really been difficult to determine what HT means by their limited editions. Sometimes it seems like it’s that size for just HK and others it’s the entire edition size world wide.

I concur. Between events releases, classic "Hot Toys Exclusives" or "Sideshow Exclusives", their model is becoming harder to read with each new announcement. Trying to avoid Sideshow direct orders when possible so i'll hold a little more and see if any (cheaper) HK or local EU options open in the coming days.

It went fast, which pretty much confirms that 2000 limited edition. Even though lots of collectors aren't happy with the virtual queue system, I'm not sure they'll appreciate this method either.

It didn’t go very fast, lasted for an hour at least.

This time was literally first come first serve, no ahead of time notice, as long as you rsvp’ed you got notified when it went live. Isn’t this what people wanted? The most interested collectors got rewarded for paying attention. I thought it was pretty good.

I like the first come first serve system but did miss out due to where I am I was sleeping when it went up. Will try to get from elsewhere I guess

Jumping on the waitlist now would be a good idea too. Just in case you can't secure it elsewhere either.

I meant, most potential buyers likely thought it wouldn't be another virtual queue event planned for Friday or even next week as usual. Still, a couple thousand buyers turned up within 60 minutes or so. That's impressive.

Already done so but since currently in Asia chances are good that I will get me one. Just gotta keep looking around. I assume it is due to release in HK?

Wondering if they are gonna be offered the same way they are planning to do for Dr Doom, Predator, Amazing Spidey and Mark 80. Those will be split in between 3 Hot Toys store in HK.

Just realised. If I get this the only Deathtroopers I will own by HT will be exclusives: brown chrome deathtroope and Zombie deathtrooper.

I have to get any normal looking deathtroopers. Thinking of grabbing a specialist and a reg. Mando version reg seems to be affordable and easy to find but the specialist not so affordable. I do have the crappy Hasbro electronic specialist and disney store doll one but both just don't blend as well. The Hasbro ones aren't the worst, they work as background filler but the Disney store one is a little small, especially the helmet. Maybe I will give the Disney Store and Hasbro ones to my son and make space for a couple HT ones. Hmmm.

This was quite a fun figure. Note for upcoming Ahsoka troopers with 'hand wrapped red fabric', it's only secured in place with small spots of glue here and there, and look to be removeable likely without damage to the figure.
