He was. James Gunn loves hiring his relatives and wife so while his dog can't act, he still managed to put him in the movie somehow.Wasn't Krypto pretty much the quintessential white Labrador

LOL one of the simplest things to get right.
So of course he bales on the creators vision, almost 70s years of popular visual and recognizable continuity, to instead cast [based on] his own dog.

Now this is a great photo! Loving everything about it.
The scruffiness of that dog will probably give Krypto more cute baby-Yoda vibes than a white lab might have. Seems like a fine change. At least it wasn’t something like a pug or chihuahua.

Clearly I don't know anything about Superman beyond the movies... a "super" dog. WTF?
All the cast photos in their crappy looking suits, and now a dog...

This movie is totally going to have the Supermobile in it, isn't it? That just seems like the kind of cheesy vibe Gunn is going for.
