These arguments are silly. Here’s some reality: I’ve had pleather figures now for a very, VERY long time, and TBLeague figures, with absolutely ZERO issues. They have all been in a temperature/humidity controlled room with the windows blacked out completely. If you can’t do that, or you live in a high humidity area with no way to control it, this is not the hobby you should be in. Period. You only have yourself to blame if these are rotting that quickly. For a hobby this expensive, you need to take the necessary precautions, which requires spending money, on making the required environment for better stability and longevity.
Not the hobby I should be in because I don't want a rubber latex suit, thats absurd :ROFLMAO:
Reality is, its not pleather though. It says in the description its latex.
Latex comes from the rubber tree if they go the natural route, pleather comes from plastic based materials, its totally different.
Maybe they are going to go for Synthetic latex but that don't last as long as natural latex so who knows.

I do hope the battle damage costume is a little more torn off the shoulders on the figure. It has more wear and tear on it than the figure is displaying [for now].
According to Joost and Sean Dabbs in the livestream from launch day it will be. Busted seams, hanging threads, and showing skin.

Just caught up on this. So we have a 5 year guarantee for direct sunlight? One of the most destructive elements besides humidity for figures? And we are taking that info as it’ll fall apart in 5 years regardless of how it’s stored or posed? Makes total sense lol.

After the DX02 debacle I remember people thinking the DX09 Batman would have issues too over time. Here we are 10+ years later and suits fine. Same for Returns. I imagine this suit will be fine as well provided you don’t actively put yourself at risk for damage i.e. dynamic poses for long periods

Edit: wrong figure lol

DX09 was not thin stretchy latex

I guess I'm having trouble understanding the folks that have made it abundantly clear (multiple times already) they will not be purchasing this, yet continue to post the exact same reasons why, over.. and over... and over again.

Now, I'm not trying to gatekeepe discussion here, but it boggles the mind why one would take the time to do this, repeatedly. Am I missing something, here?

And I keep my figures for a lot longer, I still have my Enterbay T800 from 12 years ago and its still as perfect as the day I bought it, so just 5 years guarantee is another reason for me not to buy

Did your Enterbay figure have a guarantee of any kind?

In this particular case, I feel like Joost did himself more harm than good divulging the 'official guarantee' which would probably have a margin of error built in plus whatever the company deems reasonable in terms of dealing with customers after-the-fact.

I can understand worries regarding suit wear and tear from posing, but this concern runs across the board for many releases from many companies ... but regarding longevity under climate controlled display conditions ... I'm not worried.

Many people here are very extreme and dramatic. They don't understand how materials react to sun. If you put leather, cloth, plastic or even metal in the sun in less than a year that thing will look completely different and probably ruined.

Because people are annoying. For some reason they love going in circles non-stop.

Yall were going in circles about JND Ledger’s longevity for weeks, perhaps months even.

Skullboy and I just got news about the five year guarantee and talked about it for a page or two max. We also didn’t degrade people who chose to purchase like y’all did regarding JND Ledger..

So there’s that.

Actually 5 years minimum warrantee in direct sunlight from any material supplier is the highest guarantee you can get. That does NOT mean it will deteriorate in 5 years. It just means it is the best any supplier can offer. For legal reasons NO-ONE guarantees fabrics for a lifetime. Your hot toys figures will come with a limited 1 year warranty. does that mean they fall apart after one year? Does that mean you won't buy hot toys any more? I can see you need a reason not to buy. Can't you just say I dont trust them to do a good job or something?
