A bad mask of a bad design isn’t going to get improved by a better mask of a bad design. If the final Wolfman looks anything near what that looks like then no matter how good the movie is, it will be hated. Love or hate the Del Toro Wolfman, the monster design is generally liked.
it's still kinda bald. has that weird Big Trouble in little China look. the mustache beard.

I'm still a fan of Nicholson's Wolf

Nothing to this day competes with An American Werewolf in London. Because it practice, it still looks real in most shots.

All the others take place in exactly the same sort of circumstances.
American Werewolf sure is good, but it's a horror comedy. I personally prefer both Dog Soldiers and Silver Bullet...

cause the dude is literally insane. I read IT and it's a huge book that goes into great detail about a killer cosmic clown.

I've read most of King's books. While not all are great, I have yet to read a bad one from him. I'm still waiting for someone to make a series out of his Dark Tower books.

Saw the trailer and apparently the Wolf man in this is more "modernized" in the sense that it's an infection rather then a curse and he looks more sickly as a result. Not a new take because the movie Howl did the infection thing and worked better in that film. Definitely feel nothing can Top the 2010 Wolfman design.

This is definitely one of those films that make you wonder how it got green lit. Are test screenings only for $100+ million dollar "blockbusters" now?

Not one person during production could say, "yeah, this is bad. We should rethink this".

I felt let down.
I don't know if the movie was somehow butchered in editing, but it just went way too fast. I felt there was zero character development of tension build-up. Disappointing.
Saw it to and it felt so meh. An anime named Shiki did it a whole lot better. Probably should of been a series

I think most Stephen King books would work better as mini-series. He always gives his characters a lot of background that fleshes them (and the story) out very nicely, and you just don't have the time to do that in a movie and then also build up suspense effectively.

I dig the director's previous movies, but this looks pretty lame judging solely on what was shown in that trailer.

Damn good movie.

A werewolf movie, IMO, can live or die on its werewolf design - can anyone think of a movie where the werewolf looks like **** but its an actually decent and well-regarded movie? Genuine question, I'm trying to think of some.
By modern sensibilities maybe the originally Chaney WOLF-MAN? but honestly I dont think that design was bad, especially for its time.

I absolutely love Silver Bullet despite the fact the wolf design is arguably pretty weak...
