That's a pretty good price and I need a reg to balance out Scorch. I missed the clone Shiny a year or so back and I wont make that mistake again.

Now, if HT can just give us more accurate game/book version commandos...


Hopefully Bad Batch line gets some Gen 1 TK's, gen 1 TK pilot, Tarkins gen 1 TK shock trooper, Imp Crosshair, Imp Cody, plain clone pilot, close assassin etc. Also, for The Clone Wars line a clone force 99 recruit Echo would be awesome

On the fence to if I get this, I have the Imperial Commando and Scorch already and I'm just waiting for my full set of custom Delta squad from Floyd's Custom Figures.

I've looked over the pictures of this one again and I'm not a fan of the clean white look for these guys so I've decided to pass on it.
I now this might be true to the source material, but for me these guys should be more weathered and look like they have been in multiple battles.

shiny clone is way much better than this "commando"

I think just in terms of display, the plain reg clone HT did (they didn't do a shiny yet, dunno why people keep calling the reg a shiny), this plain commando and maybe the ANH or ROTJ storm trooper in a line up might look pretty cool.

As for the figure itself, for me it is still mostly a Hunter retool so not a proper clone commando but imagined as an inferior Imperial clone commando it can work I guess. Shame it doesn't include scorch's DC15 commando pistol, would have made for a nicer set.


I think having this basic commando be a regular release is great for collectors as it means cheaper and easier to get and squad build but it may hurt sales somewhat due to lack of fomo. Had this been labeled exclusive folk would be clamouring to get one. As a reg release folk will be happy to sit on it and instead use funds for other releases until it gets waitlisted then they will ask "anyone still got it available to PO?" . I can see PO numbers for it being low leading to lower than expected production. Hopefully I am wrong because I want everyone who wants one to get one.


Will I get it? I guess I will, maybe 2 if they get cheap later. If HT do proper chonky commandos I will be more excited.

Needs a good wash of black to bring out the details.

Likely picking up a couple to flank Scorch and the Imperial Commando. I might wait for actual release though. Volume of Star Wars figures coming from Hot Toys lately is becoming unbearable. Tough choices will have to be made very soon.

Perhaps so, yet this may well be the only regular Commando we get. The best is the enemy of the good.

I see ppl ordering multiples so they can kitbash Delta Squad, if nothing else.

Absolutely ridiculous how lazy Hot Toys has been with the commandos. Saving me a lot of money, that’s for sure.

HT and SS will keep getting away with pumping out lazy releases like this because the fact is ppl like me will keep buying them. I couldn't resist the SS Cad Bane despite the crappy body and pleather and I can't resist an inaccurate commando because I've been waiting so long for 1/6 representations of each and they did just enough to scratch my itch.

Yeah definitely. Though I wonder if HT has thought of the likelihood that there is a fair bit of demand and is gonna announce the rest of Delta Squad even though they're not part of the Bad Batch line just to pick up a few extra sales from ppl who want them but don't want to go through the kit bash process. I can't imagine the Republic Commando license would be too expensive and it's just a bunch of repaints with a few new accessories.

No extra license is even needed (if that’s how it works for HT). Delta appeared in The Clone Wars so they can just release them under that line, and it would also make sense with the awful animated/realistic hybrid they went with for the Commandos.

Of course, I'd forgotten, we don't get a clear look at Fixer but that shouldn't be an issue and yeah it would "justify" more reuses

Seems like the Troopers and Commandos are like a blank canvas for HT. What next, maybe Black Out, or Chromed?

And for Battlefront fans... Jungle Striker.
