AND 2) what material are the clothes made out of? Can't have a pleather 1/3 Aragorn disintegrating on me like my Asmus 1/6 did years ago.
just from what we can see, I’m thinking it’s the same material they (InArt) used on the 1/6 jacket which is a soft fabric material. But it does a good job at looking like worn in leather imo

That's sort of what I suspect it might be, which is fine, but I would need to make sure before I could consider ordering.

Wish we’d know how deep
Queen and JND plan to go here.

What happens if you decide to go with one company over the other, but that company stops short and the other doesn’t but you’re already multiple statues in?

I suppose it’d be best to wait and see both companies offerings to decide if they’d be any at all interchangeable?

Could be another 1:6 Harry Potter issue where you like one character’s likeness better from one company, but not the others.

So, the name plate on the base says The Fellowship of the Ring

But the statue is wearing the red undershirt and Boromir’s Vambraces over the duster, which is a combo we don’t see until The Two Towers.

I don’t believe the statue’s inclusion of this outfit with the bow & quiver and bedroll actually ever appears onscreen.

The most statue-accurate and earliest scene comparison is during the migration to Helm’s Deep since he is wearing the bow and quiver. Just lose the bedroll.

The next closest option is during the ‘three hunters’ opening of TTT up until meeting Eomer where he wears the duster, bracers, bedroll, and bow & quiver; he’s just still got the Fellowship grey undershirt on.

Ultimately, this is not something that will bother me- but it does make me question the nature of license restrictions.
This statue is considerably more TT & ROTK than FOTR.

Good eye. It doesn't bother me which of the movies it says on the nameplate (it's all just one movie to me, really), but it is peculiar a bit.
Especially since- if you can just dress a character in clothes that only appear in other films- we could have potentially got a definitive InArt Aragorn and Legolas that includes their minor outfit-change items across the trilogy.

I think either could be intent on making a full line. Queen already has a full line of Affleck Batman pieces right out the gate along with tons of Iron Man pieces; so, it would seem like they enjoy making full line ups. But then again, JND have done Arwen who most likely isn't most ppl's first choice, but apparently was a success. If they can make Arwen a success, I would say that's a pretty good indicator that they can make the even more popular characters a success as well. They already have Aragorn scheduled for November 2024 and Gandalf 2025. I wouldn't put it past them to then have Legolas lined up after that.

For me personally, as long as JND make good looking Aragorn, Gandalf and Legolas, I'll be fine. Gimli would be a bonus that I'd gladly take. Don't really need anyone else. Not sure I trust Queen given what I've heard and my own feelings about the InArt downgrades from proto to production.

EDIT: also, just to mention timeline again. Queen's ZSJL Superman went up for order around the same time as JND's. JND has already fully released both of their Black and Blue versions along with the options of 2 silicone sculpts+bust or single versions; yet there's no sign of Queen's version that was only the black suit with an arguable simpler 2 fully sculpted heads version and 2 rooted hair sculpt versions.

The more I look into Queen and potentially wanting to order these, the less likely I feel like I will do so. Their ridiculous production times are just silly. Also, making things in batches is a surefire way of not guaranteeing the same quality or even accuracy to each batch, which is just insanely stupid.

I will let the initial thrill and desire of wanting these pass while I wait to see what JND comes up with.

The curse of Viggo’s uncaptureable likeness continues.

Their Gandalf is fantastic but Aragorn must be excellent to get me onboard.

Maybe it’s for the best. I don’t have the space for statues and probably shouldn’t be blowing as much money as I currently am on collectibles as it is.

It looks like they tweaked the portrait, as it looks much better now.

Sculpted stubble, too, whereas it seemed to have real facial hair before. I wonder if they'll be offering both silicone and PVC/polystone portraits.

I thought the facial hair was always sculpted but hard to tell

I don't know, this doesn't look sculpted to me - enlarge the pic.

yeah looks really realistic there, but zooming in it looks like there are a number of individual "hairs" which seem to be a perfect match to the obviously sculpted version so I think it's more down to lighting since the new pic the specular highlights on the beard are giving that sheen look
