I love reading about what others do to enhance (even if I disagree) this particular figure. I think I’ll be enjoying it bone stock for a good while – it’s really the pesky cape that’s the major detractor of this set for me. For now, I removed the cape as I want to dedicate time futzing it and hopefully achieve what others have.
I love how menacing this is. Certain legitimate and inaccurate flaws such as the seamed cowl neck don’t really bother me since I plan on having his head faced forward tilted down at a slight angle. It just screams the vibe of this moody Batman for me based off all the promo material – I love it. Accessing the rolling eyes is a pain in the ***, but with the help of small needle nose pliers, I’m willing to be patient to get them just right.
I appreciate those who are swapping out armor bits or plan on doing so. I prefer INART’s armor in color and finish albeit dull. They’re more accurate, imo. The proportions and tailoring are fantastic to me.
I experienced minor QC/design flaws. The left cowl ear is slightly bent at the tip – I’ll need to adjust that. I also received a neck connector without a magnet, but it’s still secure and snug. The neck peg itself is somewhat weak but since I plan to have his head angled down, it’s not a big deal to me. I also feel the Velcro patches are weak, hopefully they don’t lose their friction over time. Biggest omission as mentioned before was not including a proper drape cape in addition to the wired cape.
As to the why I collected this figure….
My personal favorite live-action Batman film is Batman Begins but I regard The Batman (2022) film as the best live-action Batman film when it comes to understanding the mythos of the character, and not to mention, everything else about it. His Year 2 suit is also my second favorite (behind Begins), so to have it in figure form is special. Getting all cheesy here, but I’m just stoked to finally have INART Batman, the one to have to represent Batman ‘22 imo.
The pictures below don’t do the figure justice (as it’s so often the case with INART figures), but the essence of it with his eyes looking up, plain mean looking, is what I dig. To wrap it up, I appreciate the mods out there, but if I can manage to futz the hell out of the cape, bone stock is all I need really. Happy to be part of the club though and 500 pages too!
