but PAK are essentially the same size. PAK sephiroth is 2mm shorter than this guy, the size difference isn't too big  i think it's just an excuse to sell rebirth cloud/aerith/etc twice
That's true ..the actually didn't really up the size ... I wonder what height Vincent would be if he truly was in 1/6 scale.

Is pak considered 1/8 scale? If so then I was incorrect I'm my statement that they have entered the 1/6 scale...still in their own scale I guess.

going by my collection of statues they would be 1/7th, i'd say. they advertise shin as a new line of 12inch figures, so i think they consider this 1/6, just on the smaller end of what is considered 1/6 lol

Lol...odd choice for them for sure..oh well if they consider this 1/6 then they are in this scale now. I really hope gt can put out their tifa next year...wonder if they will decide to just release it and then rebrand...or they rebrand their FF line instead and release tifa etc under that name

FansToys did that for transformers...anything Takara Tomy made before them, when they created their own, they put it under fantastic model or robot paradise brand

I don't see how 11 inches is 1/6. Vincent is 6 foot 3 not counting hair height.... the hell. There must be some typo because this size is in line with PAK's 1/7 scale.
not technically. this is a size-up from PAK, considering vincent should be shorter than sephiroth (and the shin is 2mm taller than the recent PAK seph). square is branding this as a 12in line

I don't see how an 11 inch figure can be branded as "12 inches". Either way the scale is ****ing whack.

I can't seem to find any official word from SE themselves on the scale, just something from an article which could very well be incorrect.

don’t shoot the messenger, that’s just what the press release we’ve hitherto gotten says, and that source has been correct every time from my experience.
japanese companies tend to under size a bit when it comes to scales so i’m not all too surprised

Hahaha even the characters height are all over the place depending on w/c sources we look at. Sephiroth jumped to 6'5 in the remake from the original 6'0/6'1

pointed out on mfc -- this seems right, he might just be normal PAK size lol

True  From the figure scaling to the actual character heights, They dont really pay attention to such details huh?

going by cloud who would roughly be 1/6.45 scale (what a weird choice by square, btw) vincent should be 28.3cm, and considering he is 28.5, we can just assume the extra **** is. hair i guess? considering the only source of info on this dude is from a blog post not by square i guess wording it as a "12in figure line" might be creative liberty on their part or misunderstanding

Just feels like a misunderstanding because 11 inches is not 12 inches to start.
this is true, but it isn't necessarily uncommon to call a line "x inch" when all figures aren't (i.e. calling bring arts a 6inch scale line when aerith is like, 4.5), but i think the author of the article might just have misinterpreted whatever information square gave them

If you measure the PAK Cloud from lowest point to highest point (the top of his hair), he'll only be like 2 mm shorter than the PAK Barret, too. The line doesn't try that hard to be correctly scaled and mostly just goes for "eh, close enough." PAK Yuffie is too tall by about the same amount PAK Barret is too short. In-Game Vincent is clearly taller than Cloud so if they want to make him even a bit taller than the Cloud figure, of course his hair is going to make him clear the rest of the figures.

It's obvious this figure is meant to exist with the existing line, given that they're making this instead of a "regular" Kai Vincent.

The simple truth of the matter is manufacturing costs are up. The price must go up to compensate, but they've already got people complaining about how much these things cost. Its easier to justify a higher price if you add a new gimmick (movable eyes) and rebrand.

I still think the rumors of a "proper" 1/6 line have some merit. But I would doubt they stop producing PAK in favor of a new line, at least not until they finish the core cast. Not finishing a line is how you lose confidence in the next line you announce before you've even released anything.

Not sure it's a size up from PAK
According to AmiAmi the height of the old AC Vincent from 2013 is 28,3 cm and the AC Sephiroth from 2017 is 28,5 cm
The height of the DOC Vincent from 2018 is 27,6 cm and FFVIIR Sephiroth from 2021 is 28,3 cm
It looks like they're just not accurate about the sizes of the PAK figures
