Great call. I remember seeing that as a kid and being horrified by the ending,1970 Beneath the Planet of the Apes Voiceover: "(The planet Earth) is now DEAD!"

Thought of another one. The ending of The Iron Giant I always found exciting and moving. Incredible animation, terrific Michael Kamen score.
