Seeing all the great pics of Aragorn here gives me high hopes for a Black Gate Aragorn down the line as well. I love that look for him.

They would have to extend the license to include Return of the King. As of right now they only have Fellowship and the Hobbit
I would definitely get Black Gate Aragorn. Then I would move my second InArt Aragorn to a Two Towers display. Probably do Helms Deep with him.

I got my Aragon out and set up. Prepare for some hot takes.
Honestly, I don’t like the head sculpt almost at all, and basically feel the same way I did when I saw the first photos and videos months and months ago. There’s a Neanderthal like aspect to the sculpt—literally all I can see is “caveman Jesus.” It is also, just like the InArt Joker, slightly too big for the body. The Batman sculpt is under-scaled, so I think it’s safe to say they have trouble getting the sculpt size right so far in production.
The hair on mine was applied with no nuance whatsoever, some of the longest strands/chunks are actually right at the edges of the face where Viggo had shorter bangs in real life. For the price I should not have to cut the damn hair myself. For now I’ve tucked it into the Lothlorien hood.
The body proportions are weird in the chest/shoulder area, the shoulders are way too wide and combined with the thicker jacket material on the final prouct just makes him look weirdly ‘roided up in that area. Like dude has been skipping every day except shoulder day apparently. So far I’ve not been able to totally get rid of the gap in the armpit area in a natural way no matter what the pose is.
The accessories are nice. Wrapping up each piece is complete overkill and kinda makes the unboxing process unnecessarily tedious. The stand sucks and there’s barely any pull or stability with the magnets. I just took one of the environmental bases from the Boba 2-pack and put him on that instead.
For printing such a large and fancy instruction booklet, the diagrams are sometimes nearly impossible to read, and they also did not bother to show things like how/where to add pieces like the rolled up cloak, blanket, or pipe onto the figure. Just one additional unnecessary step you have to take to go look up photos online of how everything is supposed to be attached.
Overall the figure is basically what I expected from photos and videos, with some extra disappointment from not being magically “better in hand” like so many collectors are obsessed with saying in an effort to gaslight anyone who has a disappointing initial reaction to the first photos and videos.
I am a HUGE LOTR fan, but I hadn’t ordered Legolas yet because I wanted to see Aragorn in hand. And honestly, I am considering just jumping off collecting this line. I do like my Gandalf but putting Aragorn next to him just highlights how lacking the Viggo sculpt is even more. And if there’s a whole set of characters to collect, having one or two come out a little disappointing, for me at least, makes it start feeling more like an obligation to collect them all than actually being able to enjoy each individual figure that you purchase on its own merits. See: reason why I stopped buying Deep Space 9 figures after seeing Kira and Odo

You’re certainly entitled to your opinion but damn!
Aragorn is a great figure for mass production. I love how thin the duster is and how other materials are properly scaled down (things that other 1/6 makers fail to achieve). Of course, there is futzing work to be had and certain things like the duster strings or the rooted bangs can be cut to be more accurate – not a deal breaker in the slightest. Overall, I appreciate all the details that I’m provided. And I thought the head erred on the smaller side vs larger, but no matter.

while i enjoy people shitting on companies i didn't really see any of the issues here. i do think the headsculpt is off, but didn't notice any of the issues with the proportions. i think the best course of action here to show InArt you're not happy is selling Gandalf to me for retail. they won't be able to ignore that strong of a message. my paypal is standing by to send you monies.I got my Aragon out and set up. I'm definitely not going to forget the name "caveman jesus" when looking at my figure from now on.
