Yeah when I can I will always try to support the artist by getting an original head from a run, but if I can't then I'm allowing myself to get a recast even if it sucks, we agree on that.

Then you should get one, I didn't know it was limited. I prefer the clean make up look on that sculpt.

Hoping for you he doesn't do any more sculpts next year.

I just hate the people behind recasts, especially after reading that story from SeeArt. Breaking the sculpt, asking for a replacement and then filing a claim on PayPal. What a dick.

Yup, 2.2k. It is absurd lol but he's also selling an Adam Gu one off for 30k. All of his prices are laughable.
I don't know about looking better I still prefer Yuan's paint and hair, but John is getting there. Only thing I don't like is the yellow he uses for the teeth, should be more toned down.

But I'm not trying to start a debate it's personal preference at the end of the day.

It's a good sculpt, but it's not among my favorites. That little indication that can't be discerned between teeth or tongue should have been revised I think.

I would save the spot for something else. There's always something interesting around the corner where Ledger is concerned. But if you like it Dio, don't let us discourage you. It's your preference at the end of the day.

With all that said, I do love what John's done with both the clean and messy versions. And the demon Joker as I call him, is a really fun piece I've grown to appreciate.

I've been seriously considering it for the past 2 days.

Yeah all my money goes to him recently... But after that I don't think i'll commission more Ledger and I don't really have other characters in my plans at the moment.
I think it will drastically slow down in 2026, I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to the end.

Yeah recasters are the worst, I'm not proud of owning any, but it is what it is.
Like I said, if I have a choice I rather go original.

Don't worry about it, i'm probably super biaised anyways...
You can't go wrong with any of them.

Actually i've seen pictures of Ledger where he has that little gap between his upper and lower teeth where you can see his tongue when he smiles, at first I thought the same but since I've seen the photos i've been a fan of that little detail.

Yeah I have that in the corner of my brain, that's the reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet but thinking about it i'm not sure there's any other expression I would really like.
i'm pretty satisfied with what I have and what I plan to get in the future.

It's one of my favorite in my collection, It was a blast to be part of the creative process for this one.
I had a very specific idea in my mind and John managed to do just what I wanted.
xXx's sample helped me pull the trigger on that look but I wanted something messier and more accurate, I think the final result is a true success.

Yuan is undoubtedly talented, but there's something about his work that just feels off to me somehow. Not sure why/what it is, but everything he does, while pretty to look at, doesn't quite hit as hard as some other artist's work on the same sculpt.

Edit: actually, looking at some photos I think it is the way he does eyes.

Maybe he wanted it painted that way, but I don’t like how the white make up looks.

I dig this more, but still not Yuan’s best work. Heise and John did a better job.

I think we commissioned at the same time and I had mine done for at least 5/6 months, it's kinda crazy.

I paid the deposit April 5th around 3 weeks after I paid the deposit for the SeeArt sculpt. Shouldn’t be much longer I hope.

But yes it is kinda crazy. However I’m not in a rush, the Addblue suit is still more than a year away.
