I dunno, I see more Joaquin in InArt’s sculpt, but maybe that’s just me.

They seemingly made the forehead a bit too big though - it could use more unpainted skin around the hairline too. Hot Toys got that right.

someone had to go and tell inart to change the hairline and it isn't entirely wrong to do so. the widow's peak wasn't really present for joker, but inart failed to recognize pulling the hairline further upw ill harm the overall look and the same happened with arthur lol instead of adding more hair they decided to just pull the hairline further up lol its essentially the same sculpt with different paint apps but the hairline ***** up the entire look

I only liked one picture from hot toys, the rest were garbage. sucks lu1 or jc hong never posted pictures of the raw prototype without all the filters and color grading/unglamorous lighting

looking back, we ate pretty ******* good with the original proto. needed mild fixing but overall it seemed right. hairline and the stern/serious expression sold it for me and i knew they were going to update this figure since they're known for rushing their prototypes lol but i would never expect them to turn a whole 180 and **** things up like this tailoring was even more garbage though, look at that vest lol most of their updates/improvements have been good like Pattinson

I asked Wonder if he could forward the list of improvements to InArt had they not reached out to him regarding a revision of the red suit, themselves.

Who knows if he passed any of it along but he was aware at least. Certainly didn’t use any Ledger notes prior.

i had higher expectations coming from wonder but it seems inart is the ones that are shooting themselves in the foot and if its true that they're not well financially. end of the day they're calling the shots, not the artists. they're there just to work based on someone's vision.

they cheaped out on their most expensive set doesn't set a good example

I'm not certain wonder was present for their inart 2 pack. don't think he's attached to aragorn either, seeing how he worked on a real leather jacket for him. when inart restricted him for joker

i think in terms of the raw likeness, aside from the paint and ****** hair. the sculpt itself is quite nice. his face is a lot rounder than people think or remember, inart went really narrow to try to emulate what a skinny person might look like

tailoring wise, inart is better but its not saying much when youre comparing hot toys when it looks like a crap 3rd party set

my expectations are naturally higher for this figure because this is *my* character that i gravitate towards. from top to bottom, i know everything. the likes of say inart superman or some others, i dont really give a **** about and just write it off as a meh figure with bad design choices and call it a day. at the end of the day the 4 pack is just fodder to me to fill space because i like the character. im set to have a total of about 6-8 ledgers and even more phoenix jokers/arthurs

customs, mass produced whether its licensed or 3rd party i hold to the same accord. theyre all not different from each other. some companies, obviously carry a reputation for putting out ****** products and that's what they are at the end of the day like why studios for example.
if its wrong, its wrong and thats final to me. that's how I run and others are less invested in this hobby and want to just enjoy it for face value (and that's okay), but that's not what makes this hobby enjoyable for me. people may think its a very miserable style to collect instead of enjoying it or being grateful (because wow first world problems), but I enjoy diving deep and studying characters I love and it just happens to be jokers specifically. I've done it for others but I hold jokers to a higher standard.

and people might be wondering why I own hot toys, inart, etc. when I crap on them so much. its stops becoming a want or like. I have my personal customs that are the real deal and ones I truly cherish because it has history behind them. inart's set is just because I like the character, not because I enjoy the figures and their construction/design

I'm not lashing out at people's figures, but the companies when they hire these crap researchers. limitations exists to an extent but c'mon, you're getting paid to look at characters all day and I'm only doing it for a few days out of like a month or two and get **** right but that stems from passion

ill crap on ropa clothes any day, the same with inart and hot toys. just because the price is higher doesn't exclude it from being critiqued.

original kraken shoes, awful and i paid almost 200 just to go back and pay an additional 200 to send to someone else to fix up and make it better. shame on the runner for not telling ahead of time that the body needed modifications.

at the end of the day i can fix the figures but I want to avoid the habit of buying stuff over 1 grand just to go back and pour more money to fix, I've done it too many times and it adds up an awful lot.

start doing your own **** because people are just gonna disappoint you when you start setting high standards, but that's to be expected. i usually keep quiet or only speak to a selected few and they know I am far harsher on custom stuff than mass produced stuff
Some people here forget that if it weren’t for the guys like you the hobby wouldn’t be what it is today. It’s perfectly fine to have high expectations and criticize these figures, this is what strives companies to do better and actually improve their products.

It’s also fine to be more forgiving, but don’t come at the people who are pointing out aspects which are clearly wrong because they care about accuracy.

That proto sculpt is gorgeous. I've not looked close into things, but I'm not getting the same impression from the final sculpt as I did from that proto.

Would be interesting to see someone like Heise rework the hair and paint on the sculpt.

I also appreciate the point that being detail oriented doesn't make one miserable like it's often accused. It's the part that makes this enjoyable.

Guess you’re not on FB cause I absolutely get wrecked on for caring about accuracy and writing up critical feedback type posts.

I first found out about his tie to InArt when they first shown Phoenix back in Oct. ‘23 when I talked to him about it.

Yes he wasn’t, I was referring to the notes I sent him regarding his personal Ledger suit run we were on. Didn’t listen to anything months ahead of production on that.

Manage to buy the Iris suit from him @xXJ0kerXx1 ? That was an amazing price, before the sequel no one would let go, let alone for that.

He actually lowered the price to $350 at some point.
No way.

All the Iris suit needs is button swaps here and there and it’s ready to go, quick custom.

If I had a complaint about the Iris suit, it’d be that the lapels aren’t as sharp as ideal and the waistcoat and shirt color could use improvement. Needed a better eye for color matching. Nonetheless, wish Ledger was that cheap and easy to make.

Instead you’ll get a pair of socks, some shoes.
Maybe a tie.

paycheck this week, i think ill use my bonus for that

I actually know a guy who does button swaps but uncertain as to whether he'll do it for iris joker since I previously asked him to replace the ropa buttons but he said it was discontinued

i actually need him to make me grandma buttons for arthur unless 2ouble can do it

its been wayne and jagzz who I know can do justice to making buttons for clothes

Yeah I was in talks with Jagzz at one point about offering a run of the swap out Ledger waistcoat buttons since he can 3D print them, said he was game pending interest.

It’s a shame but I feel I have no choice but to cut any ties with him after he clears my situation up.

Just been strung along too long.
To the point it’s practically soured my interest in receiving the Yunsil Nicholson Joker suit from him.

Have you considered raising a dispute with your bank?

That’s what I did, got my money back in less than seven days after I screenshot my entire chat history to my bank with that pos where he admitted the end result wasn’t what was promised, would refund but do nothing but stall and offer empty platitudes.

i heard from a friend to use credit card to play, link it to Paypal, since they offer 540 days for pre orders if it doesn't come to you. at the end of the day paypal is just processing payment
