When society collapses in the next decade my financial decisions will be a moot point.

In reality, I have no kids and a girlfriend who's as big a nerd as I am. Renting is far less expensive than buying a home in the tristate area and I work in nyc in sales. So anyone who is from here knows the value of location/comfort/ travel & convenience.
