I can't see how this won't hurt JND - really across all of their product lines.

I'm so glad I slept on the Catwoman! Even if it turns out great, I'm not a gambling man, so at the price, it's just not worth the risk (IMHO).

I mentioned something similar in another thread (I think) regarding buying JND products. While I'm more than happy with the JND products I do have (absolutely love them), it sucks to feel like you're gambling until time of release. I know I had a bad feeling waiting on Cavill Superman to arrive. Thankfully, that all went away once I opened him up but jeez my anxiety was through the roof until then.

I’m ok with it. The shoes and trousers look decent. I’ll find a customizer to repaint it, fix the hair and tweak the sculpt, tidy up the accessories and jacket colour, and Bob’s your uncle I’ll have a decent representation of Ledger’s joker.

JND really do some strange and outlandish things, don't they?

In the comparison Diostar posted it looks to me like they've deliberately restyled the hair on the prototype to look as goofy and bouffy as possible, to make the final product look better by comparison. But the original prototype pictures didn't look like that. Did they think no one would notice? :lol

Here's a picture of the actual prototype.

Compare that to the pictures of the "prototype" on the left below...

It seems that they've just teased the hair out to make their own prototype hair-rooting look like crap, and make the production piece look like an amazing improvement. But it's... er... not exactly subtle, is it? Why are they like this? :lol
Yeah it's so obvious they deliberately made the proto look worse for the comparison photos, also, am I crazy or is he literally missing a hand on the proto 😂

I'm wondering if JND releasing more products (per year) then before, is what is harming quality, or even their decision making (e.g rushing to get things out on time).

Right now, I own, WWJL, Mera, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, (and Arwen...) - and truth be told, I'm happy with all of them - for what they are.

But, I've seen how products like Indiana Jones, Superman C.R., John Wick, Aragorn (and Arwen), and 1/3 HL Joker - have all been huge misses (in my opinion) - and I'm not tone deaf to the comments people have levelled at the latest MP Catwoman - as well. Dude, that's a terrible hit rate, by anyone's standard.

While it's ALL subjective opinions - I'm more concerned that, with so much negativity, JND will hit the rocks long before they find their stride, and start fulfilling their potential.

JND hurt JND and that's down to their arrogance and ignorance in their craft.

Don't charge crazy money then expect people to be happy when the product doesn't look great. 😬

Are they arrogant though? I mean, most of these companies blow smoke up their own ***** - have you seen the "Next Level Showcase" from Prime1? I don't think JND is any better or worse than the others - none of them admit when they get it wrong.

I think the "self advertising" is just part of what these companies think they need to do to build hype around their products - it's just business.

I think we can have a debate on the pricing (spoiler alert: I agree with you!) - but regarding their craft, that's really an individual assessment - no one can speak for anyone else in terms of the quality of their craft - which is what is currently happening. Too many people shouting loudly that JND is crap - like it's a FACT - when it's just another opinion.

Can’t say I’m too surprised. The proto already told the whole story. I was hoping they’d fix both sculpts, particularly the smiling sculpt…but Kojun convinced himself these 2 portraits were perfection.

Whoo boy…

Anyone that’s looking forward to this release…congrats. There’s clearly something I’m not seeing here. But if you’re happy with it, cool. That’s all that matters.

In the meantime, I’ll take the rest of my opinion and-

Is it worth pouring more money on top of an already expensive figure, just to walk away with a decent representation?

At that price you shouldn’t be needing to do any of that

According to JND's policy - and it is not clearly worded, to be fair - the email they send out for the final payment, is considered (by them) to be the point at which the product is ready to ship. They do state, in their terms, that the deposit (including NRD) are sacrificed IF you cancel after the product is "ready to ship" - SooooOOoo....technically, that email request for final payment IS the point "of no return".

As far as I know, and I have been ordering from JND since the A.H. Catwoman piece was released - that has always been their policy. I will add that recently, they did change the wording - (ironically to make things clearer...) because people were getting the final email, but were waiting for the production unboxing video, to make a final decision...when they didn't like the outcome, they were cancelling and expecting to get 50% of the deposit back....even after the final email request for payment. I think this is where Justin and others are getting upset.

I have to ask if anyone is even surprised here.

Their statues don’t even look good, why would their figures?

No, you're actually asking if anyone agrees with your opinion that JND products "don't look good" - I would say, given what's written here and on other forums, some people do agree with you - some don't. But then, I'm sure you already knew that.

I don't understand the reason for conflict. Wouldn't the terms have been clear when the order was made?

Also, why are they taking more deposit than NRD?

They've done this since the beginning. I think you're right, it would be easier to just take a straight NRD and be done - my guess is that they are using the deposit money for "things" - but it seems like a stupid practice (IMHO) - and just causes unnecessary confusion.
