I expect Sideshow to add 10% to everything wherever they send it, because they will have had to pay the 10% tariff to bring it in from China.

They may go back to what they did some years ago and send orders direct from China, in which case the 10% would only apply to product entering the US.

Sideshow will be paying a huge amount in tariffs before the product is sold, unless it can deferred or the goods are held in a bonded warehouse until required.

Whatever happens it's going to cost a lot of money.

It's still applicable as long as the product isn't made in China or ships out from China (maybe?) and soon from Canada and Mexico. A made in Italy item that is $800 and below that ships from Singapore still gets a pass. Although, I can't say the same if it ships from China/HK.

I don't think anyone at customs gonna check where the product is made, so everything coming from China gonna cost more. Unfortunately 99% of the toy companies are located in China. Mattel increasing prices with 20% -_- saw on IG. I'm not a political person and I don't live in US, but that's what Americans wanted? I don't get it. Everything was already too expensive.

There is a section on the customs/export form that I think you can specify the country of origin for the contents. Of course, one can technically lie about it and possibly get away from the additional fees.

But yeah, majority of toy factories are located in China. Some are in Vietnam. I could assume some companies will have more production done in Vietnam if this doesn't get resolved soon.

Ahh that’s a hefty price change. I planned on grabbing this and eventually trying all of the games for the first time, just because it’s such a great figure. But because of the price change, I’ll probably pass, which means I’ll never touch the games as then I’d want the figure and by then it’ll probably be $300+. Shame as Kratos needs a buddy.

I don't know about if that's what most Americans wanted but definitely what Trump wants is to tax countries and start making stuff ourselves(goods mainly). I feel Sideshow could be considered to do better products but they'll want to charge about the same as HT and Inart and their stuff isn't even at the level honestly.

You could still get it but use pay in 4 with PayPal so you pay it over a few months. You'd get it any way but will pay it off later.

As I read it, it's the payment of duty that's been paused, not the 10% tariff. (The de minimis tax exemption in the United States is a duty exemption).

Previously the de minimis exemption allowed goods valued at or under $800 per person, per day to enter the US without duty or import taxes. Trump removed it so now duty is owed on everything below $800 as well.

Not sure what % that duty would be, but here I think it's about 4% over a certain value for 1/6 type collectable products.

Yeah, I usually do that anyways. I'm just a firm believer of never paying resale for these items, so seeing an almost $100 increase, regardless of the reason, is a no go for me.

Well, taxing Americans to dissuade them from buying foreign goods, and to buy home made goods instead.

Comparable home made goods will be extortionately expensive due to the wages and salaries American factory workers will expect to be paid.

Otherwise Sideshow would be making their product in America already.

Whichever way the cookie crumbles, many people will no longer be able to afford the cookies.

Damn. I got confused on that. So 10% is still going to be levied but not anything additional because of the de minimis? So essentially, USA buyers were going to get hit higher than 10%?
