A-dev's edit makes me want to cry. The people in here see what needs to be done, but we're only .0001% of the people out there.
Exactly.

We’re such a small minority who care about minute details and hope for near screen-accuracy. The overwhelming majority of the consumer base think the stock figure is amazing and purchasable so nothing will happen. There are instances where Hot Toys improve upon things but I doubt this would be one of those cases.

InArt isn't going to come through with anything. They gave up on the endo already and last grapevine info I got was that the Police Shootout T1 wasn't going to see the light of day either.

I really wanted InArt to tackle T1. I feel pretty confident in what I heard that they won't do anything. Supposedly they only have/had the license for a limited time. You have to have something in the works or it just expires. I guess they could always renew, but they have so much on their plate that it seems unlikely.

How recent was this what you heard?

Cause based off the WillFoxification live-stream with INART last month, it sounds like there’s positive news on the horizon regarding the Terminator license. They’ve just been instructed (by the licensor) not to talk about it and spill the beans “before it’s a done deal”. The INART guys had big ol’ grins on their faces as they were saying this…. They also said we should expect to hear some news later this year….

Who holds the T1 license now?

Who holds the T1-T2 Endoskeleton license now? Meaning, can HT release an Endoskeleton 2.0?

It was about a month ago. Maybe this person was reading between the lines. He has reason to be on top of this though. He could end up being wrong, but why does the licensor want InArt to hold off? They missed the 40th anniversary.

StudioCanal holds the licenses to both T1 and T2, but it seems Hot Toys have official approvals to do figures. Maybe they tackle T1 at some point and also do a T2 Future War Endo.

INART seems like they’re still working on finalizing their approvals to go ahead and do something with the license. I’m hoping they start with T1.

They’ve mentioned this before. StudioCanal wanted to see more of INART’s portfolio and body of work before allowing them to produce figures.

Also, I hope they don’t do a Genisys Endo 2.0. Personally speaking, I’d want the Future War version from T2 with the dual plasma rifles, standing atop a base with a bunch of skulls and whatnot.

and as a little fyi, Genisys and every other Terminator film not named T1 or T2 is owned by Skydance Media. Personally, I just hope these companies are looking to make/obtain the StudioCanal stuff.

I may have built this up too much, there's not actually a huge difference from my previous one - I reduced the fat below the chin to better match the inset reference pic - as it happens this had the effect of resetting the very bottom of the face to where it is on the original Hot Toys pic. I slightly modified the expression lines near the mouth, reinstated the shadow of the sunglasses on the bridge of his nose.

I think at this point though, I'm not sure what else to do. I still have a sense that the undulations and resulting shadows below and around the mouth may not be exactly correct but when I'm just working on a 2D image, I don't know what to change without having a pic of Arnie with identical lighting to see what it should look like instead - trying to do the nose was hard enough.

I went on a site to get Terminator font to sign my name but that changed the size of the images. I'm including the originals in the spoilers - those are for the ''cycle back & forth in your browser'' comparisons to see the changes.

Excellent 🍻 So is this the final edit?

I think so, as I said, if there is something else to be fixed I don't have a clear idea about it or if I'd be able to do it without having a picture of Arnie with absolutely identical lighting conditions.
Great stuff. Can someone make a comparison image with your edited portrait vs the original/stock portrait?
