InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

Yep. Never thought about it when I started collecting - which would have been HTs, think my first HT was the Stealth Cap set. Which I still own. But for me, not only have prices in general shot up; there's a move to make these "art figures" - and I don't think of them as toys even though you...

    1/6 Hot Toys - TMS112 - Ahsoka series: Chopper

Yeah, I carefully watched the unboxing vid; not knocking the HT but....gotta admit I was a bit disappointed in the HT not having metal arms - tho not sure how that would have worked out. No light-up even tho it's a feature I don't use much. For my purposes think the HASBRO will do. Target has a...

    Questions for Asmus

Elrond sculpt was so good I bought him when I wasn't planning to; he's awesome. (y)

    Questions for Asmus

Suspect if you did as good a job on Dain as on Gimli - e.g. heavily armored dwarves - he's be bought up. A tough dwarf in gleaming red armor with a big axe IMO would sell out. And he's something different. If you can even pick up WETA's Dain at this point - long sold out - it costs over...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

:duff LOL if we were out for drinks we could bring our figs and debate points for hours. I'll grant - tho I haven't paid much attention all these years - looking at Obi who is currently standing next to Aragorn - lol Obi's hands seem kinda large. Now I've got something else to OCD over.:lol I...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

Because IMO it's not a better price to value, except maybe the sculpt. Not paint. Plus in my case I have to factor the hours of labor of struggling with hair because Aragon's hair rooter didn't get enough sleep, or whatever. Then there's the cheap materials and/or other things I need to...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

Well, speaking as someone with 1 pool of money that gets budgeted out - or doesn't everyone start that way? Like many, I've already been priced out as a collector - e.g. that started more with WETA statues than anything, then the money creep hit HT e.g. figs went from the 200s to the 300s and...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

For myself I try to be fair; trying to think if I ever bought a figure that I thought was just plain *&^%, across the board. Well maybe he's not complete *&^% but wasn't thrilled with CW Bucky - IMO not a great head sculpt with plain paint, pants too short, the boots were curved so without a...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

To me this isn't accurate elven cloak material at all, or even something a bit plush like ASMUS microsuede. The real cloaks are thin, yes. Thin woven wool with a distinct pattern. You can buy a real one...

    1/6 Hot Toys - TMS112 - Ahsoka series: Chopper

I tend to like my characters medieval/scruffier/long hair. I'd be happy with the Ezra look, to me it telegraphed a character I like dealing with his circumstances. I don't want the Ezra with his later military buzz. Tho in theory I guess something like that would be easy to overglue with fiber.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Legolas 1:6

I'll disagree - still feels like folks are glassy eyed over sculpts; and maybe some accessories; but ASMUS and other companies are equal or better in cloth quality and some finishing details. Or; at least, what I really paid for was a sculpt I had to spend days on, some nice vambraces, and some...

    1/6 Hot Toys - TMS112 - Ahsoka series: Chopper

Well the thing is, for me, that this Mando movie is probably gonna be a mash-up of everyone in that time frame; am sure Chopper will appear...but knowing that plan I promised myself that I'd stick to Mando "origins" and chrome Mando was it, along with BOBF And I'd ratchet back :rotfl except...

GLADIATOR SEQUEL | RIDLEY SCOTT / PARAMOUNT

Yeah. Suspect I will put it in the Romulus category. Enjoyable, many well done aspects, probably too much rehash, but on the better side of sequels and definitely worth a movie ticket. Not the worst thing, to be able to kick back in a premium theater and just enjoy. I already think of what...

    1/6 Hot Toys - DX26 - Obi-Wan Kenobi Series : Obi-Wan Kenobi

He's so good wish I had the time to spend a day playing with him. This one needs to taken outside with a decent camera etc. I've always liked the ROTS version - this sculpt IMO is a perfect segue in the face to an older, more weathered Obi in exile. I like having a little story arc of a kind...

    1/6 Hot Toys - TMS112 - Ahsoka series: Chopper

:exactly: Love the Bad Batch too; but for me it's one of those things where I can only "triage" to my most favorite and have to let go of the rest - or, pick up a 1/10 IS or a Mezco or Hasbro. If the show had been primarily about Ezra - whose arc I quite like - well, then I would have gotten...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

Well, like with loose HT joints, you could try the trick of a thin coat of super glue tho for myself I'll try clear silicon in the socket of the foot of my new Gambit where a foot keeps falling off. A thin coat of E6000 epoxy which dries like a tough rubber might work too. Just a tiny dab from...

Everyone up to now has had a Viggo problem. :lol Even here the forehead thing tho in ROTK his forehead looked pretty high anyway.

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

Well, TBH, while I'm cynical about InArt and their puff pieces about their quality control etc. - Except for the Harry Potter arm thing I don't think I've read anything that isn't fixable. Since I managed to pop an eye out more than once. Worst case I'd order some good quality glass eyes and...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

Nice review. Think ur a little harsh about ASMUS - tho I agree pretty much not even WETA got this close. Except, yah know, for the forehead thing :monkey3 . But that can be worked around. Whether the cheaper material/finishing use bothers people - it bothers me, since this was supposed to be...

InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn 1:6

To be fair I shampooed him twice, he got a bit of spray and hair oil on him and the paint held up. But hearing all this I will be extra careful in the future. I need to invest in some good flesh toned touch up paints anyway, and brushes and supplies. I've heard of folks using makeup, which is...
