I think most Stephen King books would work better as mini-series. He always gives his characters a lot of background that fleshes them (and the story) out very nicely, and you just don't have the time to do that in a movie and then also build up suspense effectively.

I felt let down. I don't know if the movie was somehow butchered in editing, but it just went way too fast. I felt there was zero character development of tension build-up. Disappointing.

I've read most of King's books. While not all are great, I have yet to read a bad one from him. I'm still waiting for someone to make a series out of his Dark Tower books.

Dog Soldiers is brilliant, but I'm not too big a fan of Silver Bullet... adapting King's stories is always a *****.

I liked it. Seems to respect the aesthetics of the movies while introducing its own new visual cues. Nice world-building too. And I like that we're getting a better look at the machinations of the Bene Gesserit, which were sadly under-developed in the movies.

I had never heard of this, but it looks like quite an interesting watch. I must've watched the theatrical cut dozens of times in the heyday of VHS. It'll be fun to see BR with it again, although the "Final Cut" is (and most likely will remain) my definitive version.
