I just started collecting MOTUC about a month ago, and I LOVE 'em! I started with three of the most necessary figures... He-Man, Battle Cat and Skeletor. I'm kickin myself in the BUTT for not starting when these first started coming out! I'm pretty far behind...thank goodness for eBay lot...

That's for sure. One thing (of many) that frustrates me about these figures is the trap. Why did they make the cord so short. It doesn't make sense. They're not 'movie accurate', and if you're busting a ghost, you're not going to be 3 feet away from it. : P And the spring-open mechanism...

I use stands almost 100% of the time mainly for the same reasons as everyone else... these things (HT especially) are TOO expensive to risk breaking. Plus, I kind of like having themed bases, whether it's just a printed logo or sculpted "environment". I'm not real crazy about the HT crotch...

We need more female Dead figures, 12" or PF. How 'bout a hooker, nurse, soccer mom, nun, business woman...?

To anyone that has one of these figures in hand already, I was wondering... does the gun tip slide out or is it perm in the "retracted" position?

Does anyone else think Mattel dropped the ball on these figures? I mean, don't get me wrong... I'm happy the license has been acquired and we're getting official figs, but as a rabid GB fan, I feel pretty let down by the overall quality and detail. Below are pics of the figure I made a while...

Spenser, I think you did a mighty fine job on these sculpts. Sure, everyone has a different idea of what they'd like expression-wise for their figure, but I dig your work. Shoot, a couple years back, all I had to use at the time for my custom was this Elwood head:

The pack does add a little weight to the figure, but not so much that it falls back...plus, I use a display stand to ensure that never happens. As for the body, I used a plain Hot Toys TrueType Body. They're the best I've seen so far. That's no problem...in fact, I can print even more than...

I found that the red circle of the no ghost logo should be 1/2" in dia. to best match the on screen uniforms. I made the name tag 3/4" long x 3/8" tall, but it doesn't need to be exactly that size...a slightly reduced size works fine, as well. As for the material, I used a thin adhesive vinyl...

Thanks! The patches are printed on a thin adhesive vinyl I use at work. A decent home printer and some nice paper works, too. And if the paper's too thick, you can always peel the layers to achieve and thinner "to scale" look. Then you can adhere them with, what I consider the BEST permanent...
