And really, that's all that matters

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

"a bit more subtle" was in reference to color swapping. As in "the color grade of TDK is a bit more subtle than completely swapping green out for aqua" But even then, it's subtle in general when you compare it to some other movies in that it doesn't immediately call attention to itself...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

Color grade in the movie is everything. They choose colors not for how they will appear in real life, but how they will appear on film. There are examples where the color you see in real life doesn't look anything like the color you see in the movie. so is the real life color the accurate...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

"color is color" I don't agree with this. What if for the entirety of the film, the colour grade made that green read as more of an aqua on-screen? Would you want a figure with the real-life green or the aqua as it is represented on film? Obviously in TDK the color grade is a bit more...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

100% I was just throwing a (legit) wrench into the discussions of color accuracy. Just things to consider when thinking about what we're actually trying to match and why

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

But there is likely a scenario where we never seen the Joker in the movie with this tone jacket. So you could be matching to a color that he never actually wears in the movie regardless of what it looks like in real life. So the philosophical argument is the color in the movie after the color...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

But you've seen it in person, no? As opposed to matching from a photo where we don't know the kinds of lights it's under, whether or not there's mixed lighting, or the camera's white balance (or any post processing that might've occurred after the fact). Either way, being able to color match...

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

Judging a color from a photograph to the extent that you guys are just isn't possible without having one of these in the picture beside the subject. There are too many variables otherwise. You need a known color value to compare the unknown color to.

Hot Toys The Dark Knight Joker DX/Artisan 1/6 Scale Figure

Fabric doesn't scale though. You can't just take the fabric they used in the movie and make a 1/6 version of the same shirt. You have to find a fabric that looks similar, but with a much smaller weave. Depending on the article of clothing, the scaled fabric could also have to be a heavier...

Hot Toys - TMS136 - Savage Oppress 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure

I wish it was the animated version just so I wouldn't feel compelled to buy a character I have no emotional connection to. This guy looks awesome

Kaustic Plastik/Infinite Statue 1:6 Lon Chaney’s Phantom of the Opera Figure.

Scaled hats never work. The plastic is always too thick by necessity. If you were to scale it up to 1:1 you'd end up with a hat that is like 2" thick all around

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - 1/6th scale Darth Maul™ Collectible Figure (25th anniversary)

I've got the Solo Maul, but this is another definite preorder. I missed out on him the first time around, but this is much improved anyway. I'm happy there's a no-speeder options. I wonder how much of my money they're going to take this time

    1/6 Hot Toys - VGM62/62B - StarWars Legends : Darth Revan

There are also far more ridiculous things hardcore collectors covet in other hobbies. I will never understand the fervor for Mark Jewelers inserts in old comic books. I couldn't give less of a ****

Kaustic Plastik/Infinite Statue 1:6 Lon Chaney’s Phantom of the Opera Figure.

He looks great, but I wish they'd give us a more straight-on gaze. The side-eye limits the posing options. I noticed that same issue with Nosferatu. A minor gripe, but it would be nice
