09/07 POTA head poll

HI!!
I'm posting this here because there may be some fans that don't frequent the apes thread.
The purpose of this one is for anyone to vote for the simian head of their choice and commit to purchasing at least one cast of the winning sculpt.
The last poll suffered by a lot of votes not commiting to the purchase when the time came.
Anyway, here goes!!

Painted/unpainted will actually not be known for sure until I know who the sculptor will be. For honesty's sake, I'd lean towards unpainted now if it meant getting the head done.

I take it that this is not a traditional poll since I didn't see the voting box at the top of this post.

Although I will probably be the ONLY person voting for him, I MUST cast my vote for Virgil. Although I fully understand that with this vote cast, I am committing to buy a copy of the winning ape... whomever it may be.

I figured I'd try a "poll" this way in that then we can see who voted for who and get a more accurate idea of who's in. Last time a lot of folks voted but then never commited to buying. Afterall the idea is to get a sculpt made and into our hands.

I totally agree! My Vote did not win, yet I was still commited to buying the winning Sculpt! I think that a vote should be a comitment no matter what! Just my opinion!

Boy, if Dr. Galen or Lucius was in the mix it would have been a lot harder to cast my vote.

Hmmmm.

I vote Aldo, but as for committing to buy, that will depend on how much the sculpt will sell for and how good it comes out.
If my "on the fence"-ness disqualifies my vote, so be it.

Just my opinion, but this head poll isn't looking so good. (no ones voting or committing... including you & I.)

Based on the some conversations from our main ape thread, maybe we really need some more variety here. It seems we might get more people interested if we stuck to the first couple of apes movies...

Even the current Armando poll that I started a few days ago hasn't generated much interest (even when I thought the scupts would be $34 each.) That's pretty weird considering he won your last head poll!

This current poll of yours may just have too many charecters from the TV series. It just might fair better with the figures already mentioned above.

I tried to 50/50 it from the films and TV series. The commital part is always the hardest. I didn't vote as I will get whatever head wins. If its is a tie then I will choose. Armando was never a choice of mine but as I told you, I'm in for your head project.
I respect your choice for other heads but, the way I looked at it:
Dr. Galen - less screen time than Milo who I felt was a necessary apeonaut
Julius - would be a good sculpt but then everyone needs to "hair up" the body
Lucius - that whole mini body thing again
Dodge - see below
Landon - see below
Mutants?- see below
humans/mutants kind of negates the idea of an all simian poll.

I was thinking that the movies were much more popular than the television series and that might result in more interest. I may be wrong Ironman, but more interest means a better poll. It's really a numbers game. What do the ape fans want the most?

I don't believe anyone will vote for the Prefect Barlow. So why is he even there? There are much better characters out there. I really don't think apes (or humans) in an ape poll really matters. I'm just wondering what everyone might want as a group. It just seems we might get more parties interested on the first 2 movies. That's all. ~Angel~

I tried to mix it up because I lkie the TV series as much as the films. Humans in an ape poll [Armando] didn't fair last time and not nearly as well as the Urko poll. Personally I'd love a Barlow in my collection. Then again, I'd love to add Alexander and Jason from Marvel's Terror series.

Alexander and Jason? Are you kidding me? I really don’t believe anyone here would want either of those. You have to remember that most of the collectors (meaning ape collectors) don’t collect these figures at the same “level” as you do.

I can certainly understand your wanting Prefect Barlow in your collection. But I also believe you're in the minority with that. I think that the majority of the ape fans would rank him as very very low on their “want list” and would much rather have many other figures long before getting a figure such as him.

Don’t get me wrong; like you, I would not mind having him in my collection either. However, there are so many other figures (ape and human) that would appeal to the majority of the collectors. Not everyone collects on the same level as you.

I’m really thinking about the bulk of ape fans and what they would want to see. We all know you’re a big fan of the TV series. All true ape fans liked the TV series… but the movies are what most of us loved the most! (Better characters, better sets, and better storylines.)
