I'm set up for flex pay on the 5th. Not sure why I didn't get an arrival soon email. I hope they didn't split this in batches since it's such a small run.

new repaint on FB clearly shows the problem was never the sculpt, but the paint app that made the expression look so sad. I'm hoping a 10-15% discount will be available like Bats so I can order this guy to make up for the cost of a repaint.

Something's tells me Kumakuma is gonna be busy for awhile painting a bunch of these.
Big ass difference.

What kind of paint did you use? Looks good, the sculpt looks dead on!!! So I am stoked for that. Looks good!

Sure is and it looks way better.

I actually don't really like the repaint, but it is better than the factory job for sure.

It's not the best repaint but I like the more downward direction the eyes are painted, he doesn't look as bored but rather just neutral looking, when the eyes are not looking up as much. The make up looks more messy, however, the rest of the face doesn't look as realistic as Prime's factory paint job IMO.

They should have left the roots his natural hair color, it ties the human skin tones on the neck in even better. This Joker is not iterative of the comics, no natural green hair, nor natural occurring white skin. This is a man dressed up as a clown. It should like it. IMO

Agreed, its too green as you said like the comics, I think people a lot of people failed to notice that because the make up and eyes are painted better. Thus, that's what they were focused on.

I'm not a fan of the repaint either. The red is so dark it looks like he's bleeding. And as others have stated the hair looks bad.

I agree with all that but the make up around the eyes and forehead looks better, as it is more messy and natural which are the key problems with the stock paint.

So Prime Studio is going to chance the headsculpt paint or what?

What are you not getting man? The statue has been released in Asia for months now and people are getting their sculpts repainted by professional painters. The repaints you see have nothing to do with Prime Studios, nothing will be changed because the final product has already been released, it just hasn't arrived at Sideshows Warehouse yet.

How does it make it look like that? Please explain.

IMHO, the repaint of the eyes takes away from the character likeness...they may be prettier but the "eyes rolled up into the head" look is more in line with the character and what I've always perceived as the "I'm a man of my word" look they're trying to go for. Also the mouth area repaint doesn't work for me...it's too neat, too defined, & the red strikes me as too dark...reminds me more of The Crow.

I think the repaint is a two steps forward, one step back situation. While it's technically more proficient, (for all its flaws) the factory app does a better job of character portrayal.
YMMV, of course.
