It is absolutely horrible that Sideshow does not have the license for Harry Potter. I would love to see what they could do with PFs and dioramas. I have the 2 on order at Entertainment Earth. It says Jan 2010 and I'll believe that when I see it. I think Gentle Giant is about 2 steps from death and should be put out of its misery.

I am still bummed that Sideshow doesn't have the opportunity to make PF's for this line. Gentle Giant always makes some great prototypes, but I don't know that I've been as pleased with anything I've purchased from them when I get it in hand.

Maybe once Gentle Giant releases these and everyone finds out they suck Sideshow will be able to scoop up the license.

The GG Potter bust line are pretty much all great. I hope GG does get these out - the latest email from Entertainment Earth still said January 2010.

SS should have started on this line years ago, I would have been sure to pick up a couple PFs. With GG at the helm, I'm more in a wait and see how it turns out mode. I've been waiting to snag the Voldermort, but I will have to see some in hand pics before I bite.

That's true. There are a few of those I wish I would have picked up. I do think Sideshow could do better though.

Gentle Giant figures and busts to me always look amazing in their preview photos, but then loose a lot of detail by the time the real thing ships. They do really well with armor and aliens, but skin tones and fabric have never been their strongest suit.

I would really like to get into the bust line but it just seems that every other one just looks plain bad.

The sculpt or the pose? I dislike the pose in alot of them which is what basically kept me away.

Ah, I haven't seen any in person. Funny how much bad paint can ruin a piece. I remember people said that a good paint job would significantly improve the Obi-Wan in Clone Armor statue. I doubt it.

I gotta agree with you on the Obi Statue. The only thing that would have made it better would be a hammer.:lol

One day I'll get around to putting a coat of bronze paint on it and see if that does anything. I've also thought about taking it in to the office to put on display because if it gets broken it won't bother me. :lol

If you think the GG HP busts look bad then you won't be happy with anything they do. As I stated above there are maybe 2 or 3 that are a bit questionable (not bad though). It's one of the most consistent lines from any collectible company.

The only reason I question them is due to the lack of in hand pictures. Happen to have any or know where to find some?

The Harry Potter license is one big fail to me. That's a property I would support the hell out of, but I'm just not a fan of GG busts anymore. :dunno

I love the GG HP Bust line, almost near perfect, which is very rare. I'm curious how the PF's come out, but with the delays Im a bit worried.

However I picked up the Tonner Dobby for $28 during a Tonner sale last month. Love the figure. Very impressed with it. It will go great with the GG Potter Pf's.
