1/6 DARK TOYS DTM005 Collectible Figure MAX DX

Working on shoulder pad today. Need to weather and install properly, add the DT heads / belts / shorten the leg brace and I will be happy with my meagre attempt.

Not "perfect" but will play the part nicely, now to put some weathering and add to the Thunderdome Mad Max conversion, like the Dark Toys suit better for this particular Max project, the jacket is very thin material and more easy to pose open as Max use it in the movie.

Some more work on shoulder pads and knee pad — I also removed about 5 mil of the leg brace to shorten.

This is a fun project!

My Dark Toys "Max" arrived and does look good as is but my plan is still to swap out the body and give it a good dusting of weathering, at the very least.

It is actually but that can also be the specific body used is smaller.

I see from wiki that Mel Gibson is 1.7 m or 5’9.5” tall so a shorter body does work ok with this custom. I am working on my re- work on the DT head today. Will post progress soon.

Ingredients: JStoys body, dark toys: head sculpt (slight repaint), belt, premier toys: dog, jacket, pants, boots, brace, heavily altered knee pad, heavily customized shoulder pad, custom made can of food

clothes are from present toys (sleeve retailored)
Glued shoulder with pad inner foam removed
body is TTM 19 clone
Gun, Boot, Belt acessories from DT
Modded Leg harness from present toys
hands washed red they look better now
doubt i will touch the hs but might darken the body, within some brown wash…
Want to do the bandaged arm but dunno how any tips?

Looks great now with that body. Proportions way better. Anyway, Mel is not specially tall

Couldn't stand the boots and plastic leg brace so I bought the present toys boots and might get the leg brace from that also. I'll get a Fullmetal one later.
