Yup, this will do.

I dont have any strong affinity to TOP GUN so no way was I dropping crazy custom money for the figure. But TG should be represented in my movie figure display. It's an iconic 80s film. So this will do nicely.

I bet they release the bike at some point as well.

We need the F-14 cockpit too.

There’s one from 20 (?) years ago that sells for crazy high that is missing the nose/tip.

This is the bike I was referring to and as it seems is not made by DID, don't know if is the same used by DID in their figure promotional photos or if it is the same, they plan to release under their brand in a joint venture with the original maker/brand.

Be interesting to see if the Iceman set has multiple patches so u can headswap with Mav/ Helmet from this set, although I'd imagine Mav will come seperate too.

I have seen a custom sculpt of TopGun Tom and puts this one (although it not bad) into the shadow.

I know it is all in the eye of the beholder and comparing with custom art is not fair.

I will have to agree with amarcord. Tom's DID sculpt is pretty good! But to me he looks like he's gained 25 lbs.

Will this Maverick white navy summer uniform fit OK on the IceMan & Goose figures?

The Pete figure is a smaller body but was hoping they still fit reasonably well on the taller Goose/Ice bodies if I end up buying multiple of these figures - admittedly, the name tags and insignia/rank will be off.

it’d be nice to see all 3 in their white navy duds.

I really wish DID made each figure with the proper body and clothing size for the Top Gun line. I have a feeling something will end up being off trying to make the outfit fit two different sized bodies.

For some reason they opted for a regular body for their first Maverick:

MA80170 - Advanced Body (Slim Ver.)


They chose the shorter one for the younger Maverick:

MA80181 - HG Body (Slim Short Ver.)


Iceman and Goose have the taller version, but according to Celebheights Kilmer is 5' 11 1/2 whereas Anthony Edwards is 6' 2":

MA80182 - HG Body (Slim Tall Ver.)



Even their tall body is really just a regular one by the standards of other companies. Their 'Tall' body was far too short for their Stauffenberg and Skorzeny. It's an easy fix if they're wearing officer boots as you can stuff them with cotton wool to reach the correct height. With ankle boots you have to rely on extenders.

PO’d 6 Tom/Nicks and 3 Petes so I’ll find out how good/bad the uniform/flight suit look with the body swaps when the figures are released.

The update is fantastic! Hair detailing is much improved as well. I just saw a custom the other day that had a headsculpt that looked very similar to this (I think it was a Balloonman sculpt?). That custom one was a little better, but given the cost of the sculpt and paint alone on that is a similar price as probably 4 or 5 of these DiD figures, I'll gladly take DiD's.

I think I seen that on instagram pretty amazing custom sculpt, but this DID one will get the job done for a fraction of the cost.
