I'm more or less done repainting the First Doctor sculpt.
Here's a wee collage from stripping the paint on the sculpt, to the

sealed and glossed finished item.
Trying to spray sealant on it in the lovely Scottish weather is always fun.
Besides adding a lot more detail to the skin and eyes, I changed the hairline to make the central hairpiece more prominent.
I'll do a photoshoot with the complete figure soon.

Well what do you know, I actually received a Fourth Doctor from Zavvi this time. Only had time for a cursory look so far, but it appears to be pretty good quality with no issues that I can see. And paintwork on the head is surprisingly good as well. A little odd that it was just loose in the packaging and not wrapped with any kind of plastic, but hey I'll take what I can get at this point!

Of course I'm still waiting for them to refund me for the first figure I sent back....

I got the updated 11th doctor. It is the purple doctor headsculpt for sure. The paint apps on it are much better than the one on that one. But they also gave it that new Marty Mcfly chocolate hair. So it's kind of a mixed bag.

The watch they also gave him the purple coat golden watch instead of the one he originally had. At least he doesn't have that massive stand anymore.

Just noticed that the pants are actually different.

Phone pictures aren't the best and I haven't done any futzing. The purple coat has a much more peach tone to it in hand.

That Ton is awesome. Better than mine as the likeness is even more spot on. Mine is pretty good and I'm pleased with it, but I'm slightly jealous. I'm feeling more and more that I don't need 9-12 definitives as I have five great figures. Unless, as I keep harping on about, they improve the new ones to being less cartoony.

...and just to freak you all out, those deepfake apps are getting insane (you need to click it to see it)
That deepfake is very creepy!

My Tom's legs have gotten quite loose, and his hat falls off all the time now. Not a major, but... yeah, these Zavvi editions are definitely cheaper feeling.

I only have the old 7B 11th of the new series Doctors (although I've got a Jodie head + costume from Kitbash Corner - just need a body) so I'm getting the definitive editions, but really, really hoping they've continued improving them behind the scenes, as I agree they seem cartoony.

Although as mentioned that's almost certainly down to the paint, so fingers crossed they can improve that in production.
I wish they would give us some kind of update though! I paid for my S18 Tom almost three years ago, which is the longest outstanding preorder I've ever had.

You've done an incredible job with the repaint and gotten the figure looking simply the best I've ever seen it... but I confess I've never been in love with the sculpt BCS did for Hartnell. I actually hope he gets the "definitive" treatment one day, maybe they could even throw in a David Bradley headsculpt too.

Yeah. I hope so too. The sculpt is not the greatest.

Here's a collage of my repaint of the Ninth Doctor. I think it's so so. I may have a go at repainting it again.

I bought the Amy Pond sculpt in Big Chief's kitbash corner. This was my first attempt at painting a female sculpt. The skintone should have been paler, but otherwise it's not a bad attempt. I may have another go.

Nothing as impressive as DREVIL1's repaints, but I put together a 13 with Kitbash Corner parts and a Poptoys Suntan body.
When Jodie and Pertwee were released I could only get one, and as a Classic Who fan first, it was obviously going to be Pertwee, but I always had a pang of regret at missing Jodie.

So I'm pleased to be able to add her, even in an incomplete, kit-bashed manner, to the shelf.

I've got her hanging out with McGann in a sort of "Doctors who deserved better on TV" shelf. No offense to anyone who enjoyed it, but I personally couldn't stand the Chibnall era. It was not because of Jodie however. I think she did the best she could with the material she was given, much like Capaldi, so I'm happy to have her in the lineup. Now I just need those definitive figures to finally release and I'll be a lot closer to catching up!

Looks great. I’ve got McGann and Jodie and Eccleston all together on a sort of “deserve better” shelf too.

I received mine recently from Popcultcha (Australia). It’s not as bad as I was expecting - I actually quite like it! I have the definitive 4th on order and will probably swap this outfit onto the definitive’s body, as I prefer this look over the season 18 outfit, but would like a better head sculpt. Wouldn’t mind a better scarf though! This one is too still and washed-out looking.

I think I'm going to cancel my orders for the definitives (although I'll keep 4 because he'll be out by Spring and he looks great.)

I've got Zavvi 4th and original 9, Blue Suit 10th, 7B 11, Zavvi 12. They all look great up against my 1/6 Tardis. I don't think I need to pay £1200 for slightly different figures which aren't even improvements.

Living crisis and all that, I could do with that money back.

There is Yulia is her name I believe, she hand-knits those scarves. No idea whether she is still doing it or how to reach her, but I saw it some years ago.
