Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Hi KG

Got my socks also buddy

Like Neo said thank you for the amazing socks and also the letter you provided

Seconded. Great service there. The letter was a nice touch.

However, in the end I went against the recommendation to put the feet in the socks first. I couldn'y think of a way to effectively wrap the ankles without having the foot on. Thankfully the socks pulled over the feet just fine. In fact, I took them on and off several times, and the elastic and seams all held up great. The workmanship seems top notch. :duff

I'm gonna' need a suit for my Black Dynamite. Hint, Hint.:wave

Great Pics Maglor! I'm still working on my wigs, but I got the head for mine done!I'd really like to get a full day of sculpting done, but I have no idea when that will happen. :dunno

What are you doing for the wig exactly? Are you doing something with real hair?

I'm attempting to sculpt two full wigs to cover the modified/customized Police Officer Joker head that I made to use for the Nurse Joker head. It has the best scars in my opinion and I think if cast in flesh tone and painted appropriately it could really capture the scene pretty well. The trick is capturing both the red headed look as well as the look he has after he removes the wig and his brown/green hair is in full view again. Hence, I'm sculpting two wigs. Wish me luck. I've sculpted plenty of mechanical parts over the years, but I've never been really good with hair, lol.

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Very cool.

If you were sculpting one for the head I'm using I might be interested. A piece of hair broke away from the front of the wig long ago, and it still bug me a little.

And if you were making a real hair wig I'd REALLY be interested! :panic:

It broke? Bummer. If you'd like to send it too me I could try and fix it.

Like I said I went with the Officer Joker head because overall I really think it captures the look of the scars better than any other available head, plus I just wanted to be different, lol. I'm going to sculpt the wigs on resin castings of the Officer Joker head, then make molds from Smooth On Smooth Cast-300. Then I'll cast the wigs in Dragon Skin, a High Performance Silicone Rubber) which stretches many times beyond it's original size and can be cast to be more or less flexible based on your needs with an additive called Thyvex(sp). I can also tint it/dye it in any color that I have pigments of or can create my own colors from these sme pigments that way I don't have to worry about paint loss. It's really pretty cool stuff. BTW, I'm thinking of making the heads and wigs available if anyone is interested, pending my success first of course.

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

You can see the current condition of the wig in the pics I just posted. It's not really that noticeable, but it's part of the reason I didn't send you the wig in the first place. Didn't want you to cast a busted wig.

I suppose it would be easy enough to mold something onto the hair in front. What would you recommend using?

I recently repainted the wig... don't think I'd be able to get the paint to match after sculpting... not a big deal I guess. Just repaint the whole thing again.

I look forward to seeing your cop/nurse Joker.

The reason I want to use the head I'm using is that I want to have a variety of Heath sculpts on display, with no doubles. :peace

I understand. I would have fixed it after I made a casting of the broken wig, then cast that, lol. Even a third generation cast is a good cast when it comes to hair, I bet.:dunno

I would usr Apoxie Sculpt or Kneadatite. In either case I would just use more of part B than A to maintain flexibility.

True enough, lol. I would also recomend mixing some acrylic paint in with some liquid latex mold builder (available from Hobby Lobby for under $13) that way the hair can still bend without risk of paint cracking/flaking etc. You do have to go with a darker version of the color you want however as the mold builder is kinda' cream colored and lightens the paint.

Me too. :yess:
Now that King's Socks are on their way I'll soon have a great Nurse Joker on display.

I understand, I have a special shelf for the variant Jokers in my office/work area and the BR Joker will be in the center with the Nurse and Officer Joker's flanking him. If I ever decide to do an interrogation room Joker I may have to rethink my arrangement. :slap

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

My nurse joker is now complete! I just wanted to thank Chris for the socks. It really wouldn't have been the same! Ill be posting more pics in the nurse joker thread in some natural daylight!

I'm sorry for not going back but can someone tell me who is making these socks and if they are still taking orders?

Thanks.

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Just a small "update": there are a few people who are still waiting for their socks. I originally planned to make the socks over the last weekend however university got in my way. Please kindly understand that I have to give priority to university. Socks will be finished around Monday. I will ship immediatly. Sorry for the delay. If you have any questions feel free to ask here or via PM. :)

Understood, no problem KGS. School should always come first. I'm still working on my Nurse Joker anyway. :rotfl

It's mostly the color and the buttons that are off. Print design is passable.

I have an extra BR Joker shirt I may try to dye it. I can always repaint the buttons, lol. Unless KGS can make us better ones. :wink1:

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

The problem with dyeing it is ALL the thread/stitching will remain white. Which will make the shirt look even worse.

Re: Movie accurate 1/6 Joker socks

Thx for the pic Devil. I believe I understand what you mean. I will start working on the pattern now and start as soon as the graphic is printed... Its worth a try :)

Thx for the input guys! :duff
