Some photos from two different owners appeared on FB today. It looks like one person is showing that the shoulder pad has a scuff on it. Good stuff for over $600. Hopefully it's something they can wipe off, haha:

The price is utterly shameful and even worse now that the in-hand pictures show it for what it is. I don't want people who bought it to be unhappy with it, but I wish people hadn't ordered, as companies shouldn't be encouraged to think this sort of pricing is acceptable.

600 dollar action figure...I just keep repeating that in disbelief.
I can only laugh. I think this figure was first unveiled 2017 or 2018. I waited and waited and waited. I followed every prototype photo, every retooling update.

And then that final MSRP just instantly priced me out at the finish line.

Still, hope those that get him enjoy him, but I really don’t want this kind of pricing to become the norm.

Price is pretty outrageous for this figure, but not nearly as insane as that Prime 1 Studio Final Fantasy statue at $14,000 USD... Their Guyver statues were $1k+, but the size alone is undesirable. Much rather own this.

Guyver 3 is next to be up for P/O by MaxFactory, assuming the same price point but I am very curious to how many of these Guyver 1 units were actually produced?

It looks nice, but 600 dollar nice...meh

I just don't get the cost of this thing.

Guess I'll be Guyverless.
The price is unacceptable, but it's sounding like it was higher than average because they anticipated low interest in Guyver, therefore increasing production costs due to the low edition size, but wouldn't pricing it normally have generated more sales? Surely it makes it worse that the price was so high that even avid Guyver fans passed on it. They are such a huge company that surely it would have been worth the risk to price it normally and gauge interest in the franchise, which would have led to more Guyver figures and more revenue.

Likely, as they could have viewed this as a premium collectors item only. And I’ve heard the author demanded a high licensing fee for this piece (I could try and find the source for that).

Still, I can’t help but put it in perspective. I bought a new model PS5 for $450 last week, over $150 less (without factoring in this guy’s taxes or shipping too). You could have nabbed SIX Threezero 1/6 Power Rangers for $444 last year and grabbed two more for the asking price of this Guyver figure. I just can’t rationalize nearly 8 quality figures = one plastic action figure. I got a 12” Tekkaman Blade from Innovation Point with full diecast parts, LED features, tons of accessories, and incredible articulation for $150 and it impresses me more.

Anyway, at this point I’m just venting the disappointment that it’s out of my price range after 7+ years of anticipation, and the final product I’m seeing just further frustrates me because it does look solid and I would have happily paid a reasonable amount for it. It’s double what I anticipated. Again, I hope that doesn’t become the norm.

I remember reading the expensive price but forgot the exact amount and thought it was $400. Coming back to this to find it was actually $600 and more expensive than Inart Aragorn :ROFLMAO:

This is exactly how I keep seeing the situation. I'm looking over my collection and thinking about how I bought three really nice figures recently for the cost of one Guyver. As you've also mentioned, there are beautiful diecast figures for a fraction of the cost. I've seen a few in-hand Guyver images showing blemishes or scuffs on his armour. How are imperfections like that acceptable for a figure of this price. When charging that much, you should be delivering absolute perfection.

It's all subjective, buying expensive toys is a first world privilege. I'm sure my $600 could of helped out some starving children somewhere. Instead, I'll just enjoy my overpriced plastic doll.
