As I said in the Vader thread, wasn't crazy about the series but liked the art. The stormtroopers and Vader are the only designs I would actually purchase though ... I may well end up with these. They're lighthearted and pop.

Well these are probably the closet we're ever gonna get to the McQuarrie designs in 1/6, since Rebels is basically just McQuarrie art translated into 3D animation (especially Vader)

Sideshow had plans to do those designs in 1/6 like a decade ago but they never came to.

I actually dig this quite a bit. Would be a nice stand-alone piece even if you didn't have a fuller collection of Star Wars figures because of the design.

What's "Entry Grade"...
This is the same language they use with the Marvel Hono figures. Best as I can figure, it just means they are "bare bones" without extensive accessories, extra sculpts, fancy bases, etc. But they are Hot Toys figures in every other way. Prices are significantly lower than typical HT figures in their Marvel line. Personally, in most cases I prefer that route over including a bunch of extraneous stuff that is just going to stay in the box forever.

I can't help but feel they won't actually commit to this show. Troopers sell. Vader sells. That is what they made.

I'd be very surprised to see much else but who knows. I'd be in for an Ahsoka and a Sidious, beyond that I'm sticking to SS TCW.

Yeah that’s very pragmatic. I hope they continue but watch it just be these or other β€œeasier to make” characters without exposed faces.

I’d be down for the Inquisitors as well. Loved Sarah Michelle Gellarβ€˜s Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother (hate what they did to him in OWK…)

And more importantly, I seriously hope this Honō Rebels Vader has no bearing on a potential HT ROTS Vader….

I didn't even watch Rebels, but I like the idea of a stylized trooper, so I am absolutely going to pick up at least one of these.

This looks cool, but I have no interest in getting into any other SW lines.

BUT.... My kryptonite is Vader. And since I will likely find it hard to pass him up, I may be suckered into getting a stormie to stand with him since he's not all alone stuck in a corner on a shelf.

We shall see, but I think I'll stay strong and pass on this. Until photos in hand come out. :slap

Yeah, that was the problem going this route. HT really opens themselves up for price criticism. Sure it’s stylized but they shouldn’t be $100 less than non stylized armor. Same basic white armor on black suit as a realistic version. Paint might be the only thing drastically less here but is it $100 in paint? I don’t think so.
