This is why I’ve been saying, these are typical HT efforts on display here. I’m so used to settling with HT at this point. Most of them don’t truly ever blow me away or satisfy me as much as I’d like them to. I’ve always thought they try more with Star Wars than they do with Marvel/MCU characters too.

Cap could use some tweaking on the likeness. I'm tired of seeing better customs. HT are so hit and miss.
Yeah, but on the other hand has me reliving the glory days :lol when I was primarily collecting the MCU and the awe I'd feel opening those boxes.

Had so much fun buying WS #1 extra weapons. Envying the customizers who were putting on rooted hair.

That pretty much came to a screeching halt with IW - except for Bucky who is stellar, War Machine, and BW and her cherry red lips.:monkey3 Then they started giving BW plastic hair, Cap had some horrible seam in his hair, and prices for extra 1/6 accessories and figures in general climbed.

I might even go for some of the Thunderbolts.😁

Hot Toys also have scaling issues too. I’d like to see you do this for pin-head EG Cap and the new big noggin Winter Soldier.
Here we go.
Kind of hard to find a headon image of Stan in costume.

From what I'm seeing here, it looks like Hot Toys' supposedly large head is just what a head is supposed to look like.

I can't deny that HT have conditioned us to expect pin heads and comic-esque superhero proportions.

The only thing I'd really want is for Bucky's right shoulder to be more pronounced/beefy.

Yaaaasss the eggs were broken out.:clap

Anyway I never saw a problem with WS, the fit of that outfit in certain places was supposed to connotate restriction, menace, lots of weapons etc. There isn't gonna be Cap's silhouette.

The depressing part is having InArt Legolas on PO and now thinking I'll get the fig eventually and be staring suspiciously at it, thinking "pinhead".:lol Either that or pull that trick that newscaster used when he clipped his jacket in the back to make it more form-fitting:monkey3

PS. Mad Warrior Max 1/6 Scale - Present Toys came with a Gerber knife. It's the only 1/6 Gerber I've been able to find.

Bit the bullet and just pre-ordered at a higher cost since I missed out via Sideshow. This version of winter soldier is my favorite character in all of MCU. Had to do it.

Yeah, been there. Recently, with Jack Sparrow. Sux but IMO for select figs it's worth it. Not likely Artisans are gonna go down in price, after release. I'm seeing Sparrow listed at 800, 1000....whether they sell for that much who knows. But there's only 4,000 of this Bucky planned to be in existence.

My fav MCU character along with Cap, so if I had failed to get through the SSC gauntlet I would have paid up. No regrets on getting JS either; IMO these Artisans are a cut above if they are all like JS.

I hear you.

I think for most of us there are some figures we are willing to pay more for. I know if I had not been lucky enough to score this Bucky the other day, I would have been hunting it. I would probably have gone ahead and bought the one I saw for $550 on eBay Thursday night.

Thanks for doing that. Yeah they almost always make the heads too small so the one time they get it right, people think it’s too big 🤣

Yeah I would have too, or higher. Makes the SSC gauntlet even worse. Reading the Anakin Artisan posts was painful it sux when it's a fav character or look and you're competing with thousands. One window I had open I think said my number was like 7000 or something with over an hour wait. Made me think I should just pay up instead of all the stress.

Yes, that whole situation Thursday was really stressful. I remember going to bed Wednesday night wishing I had just secured one at Pop Collectibles ($550 USD I think).

But don’t want to complain too much bk @Gipetto0812 gave me information about how the system works and I did manage to secure a Special Edition.

I had three devices open (desktop, laptop, phone) and when the que opened I only had to wait like 8 minutes on my phone and about 17 on my laptop. I could have bought two, but I wouldn’t do that, it would feel unsporting. On my desktop I think I had like an 60min wait, which would have been very dicey.

So yeah Thursday was stressful, but ultimately it felt worthwhile to get this figure. I started collecting too late to get the 1.0, and have always wanted one.

Yeah, I had missed V1 as well, and vaguely remember way back - with everything I buy, I do try to save money - that I didn't want to spend "on a character that only showed up in 1 film". Or something like that. Then ended up paying after market prices.:banghead

On the other hand the e-bayer I bought from had great communication and seemed positively grateful for the sale, so I actually felt good about it - like I was helping someone out. A few e-bayers I ended up corresponding with have been like that. Good people, just trying to make a little money or maybe are hard up. These aren't the ruthless flippers running 20 computers to undercut people. :pfft:

I've read about other Artisans and the "gauntlet" and don't know what to say about SSC's methods. I get what they are trying to do with limited pieces. The obvious is for HT to just make more; but the work involved with an Artisan probably prevents that. Or maybe they are trying to keep the Artisans very limited - dunno. It's not clear to me why these Artisans are an advantage to HT, other than InArt competition. Because it's not HT's main meal, at least not yet. HT's primary consumer base I don't think regularly wants to pay 500-700$ per figure, or higher.:horror

:rotfl

TBH for me was thinking about the "event" the night before, having angst.😱 Checking equipment, everything charged up😁

There was a tiny part of whatever brain cells are left that way saying "grow up/this is stupid" :thwak but that pitiful voice of reason was easily trampled by the glassy-eyed fever of a determined collector.:lol

That feeling hits home for me. I was ultra-cranky after losing out on the Scarlet Witch Artisan. Went dark for the rest of the day. Ugh.

But as luck would have it, I got a WL conversion on her. Hopefully, those of you out there who got screwed on the Bucky lottery will end up getting one as well.
