šŸ¤£ I think it is too. Just such a boring outfit but thatā€™s not Hot Toys fault.

Watching the video, the dark trooper torsoā€™s light features are cool but donā€™t feel like itā€™s a must-have accessory.
same, I bought the standard version, and it would be also helpful of bring down the initial cost if somehow Grogu could be removed from the set also :)

Itā€™s weird Grogu comes with both Lukes when he was a deluxe extra with Ahsoka. I donā€™t want another Grogu either until heā€™s soft goods.

Iā€™m guessing the lining is so you can leave the hood up without any stress about staining? Was my first thought at least
Hadnā€™t considered that but it makes total sense and now Iā€™m less mad about it šŸ¤Ŗ I noticed the lining is far less glaring in the Sideshow video - likely depends on lighting.

Looks really good in Sideshow's video. Though, I'm wondering if I should go through the trouble of gathering the parts from this set or wait in hope HT makes a 40th anniversary version with everything I want already all that one. I already have the deluxe with parts from the V1 šŸ¤”

The notion hoping for a reissue if ROTJ Luke for upcoming anniversary is just plain boring, really ?

Woo-boy. Just flipped through the HT blogger photos again and was struck by two things. First, most of the posing in the shots are making Luke look like he's hitting the catwalk...lots of "strike a pose". Not helping the figure's look there. Despite being movable, the eyes in a lot of the shots are looking pretty dead too.
That's kinda why I'm not sure how there are detractors, or at least people who don't think this is superior to the ROTJ sculpt. Hot Toys is notorious for putting up bad blogger photos - how many times do we see (especially on this forum), pictures go up, everyone freaks out, and then the in hand pictures start coming out and everyone is happy? Bo-Katan comes to mind, there was plenty of criticism when the photos came out and now many see it as some of Hot Toys finest work. Elbow aside.

Now I agree that the blogger photos don't do this one any favors, and despite that most of the reception has been that the figure was definitely improved from the prototype and is going to be a huge winner. Obviously these figures are works of art and art is entirely subjective, but I just don't get how anyone can see this as anything but the best Luke sculpt so far, with the added bonus of not being a fat slob this time.

To each their own I guess.

Wow looks bloody good in that Sideshow video! Really liking the sculpt and the tailoring on his outfit. Dark Trooper looks awesome and the backdrop is indeed a pleasant surprise.

Only disappointment is the crappy battery lit saber. The light is so dim by the time it reaches the end of the blade. Really, why even bother including it?

In the sideshow video, it looks like his belt buckle is black. I could have sworn his belt buckle is silver in this iteration of his costume.

The box art for these DX figures is really lacking now, the Maul ones were cool as hell and these are just the prototype images with a filter over them.

Taken from Mr.HIPPOā€™S review;

The face on the left shows why that figure was one of THE worst regrettable purchases I ever made.

SO happy this new one exists.

Definitely interested in sourcing the headsculpt. The sideway glance DX Jedi head really limits posing.
