I recommend no one follows this up - you can probably only use stuff we've seen a million times before :lol

I've got access to Muthr now....I'll get my own answers...

:goes to terminal, queries chances of HT ripley release....

It's just weird to me, because when this figure was announced, I remember people savaging it. Now people are upset, it's not being released.

Judging by the comments in this thread from the beginning, I'm surprised people ordered it at all.

According to that list, Ripley already came out right after Strange and before TFA Luke. Don't understand why everyone here keeps complaining.

:lol

This is the first figure in history that was released and so few were ordered it was basically never seen. Maybe two figures, huh?

I wonder if this figure is simply dead? I mean, if it was planned to be released in April, photographed in the 'coming soon' announcement, and presumably made... then what are they doing with the short stack of boxes? Why not release them? HT must not have even bothered to make them. If they did manufacture the production figures, they'd be released by now.

So now the question is: will HT bother making this figure or not now?

And if so, will they bother making any improvements.

Clearly the factory is booked. And likely for a long time. This does not bode well for our chances of this getting to the factory floor.

My guess: our chances might be determined by Power Loader Ripley sales. If those are dismal too, you can all kiss this goodbye.

Okay, I just pre-ordered Hermione Granger 1/6 Scale figure from Star Ace
on Big Chief's site. It's the Prisoner Of Azkaban Hermione, with two outfits:
School dress and casual.

It's also sold out.. I got the last one.

What does this have to do with Hot Toys Long Overdue Ripley 1/6 figure?

Because now I'm going to be curious to see which one arrives first.. or at all.

Hermione figure has no firm set date.. I did read once that it might be
out early in 2018. And Ripley... your guess is as good as mine, heh.

There's a good five or six months worth of complaining in this thread that wouldn't have happened if HT had simply given us an update on the goings-on with this figure. Seriously. A simple, one-sentence update on their Facebook page, but they can't even be arsed to do that.

This is why I laugh every time someone suggests the delay is due to HT making improvements to the figure. They don't even have the respect for the customers to release an update that costs them nothing. Why would anyone think they would spend more money on improvements if they care that little about this figure and the people buying it?

I agree. A little customer interaction to delay or at the very least confirm fears would go a long way. Its just weird they keep stringing this along now.

I agree as well. A quick update, like "We realize we are behind schedule for this release, but we will be releasing this figure by the end of 2017. Thanks for hanging in there, and we appreciate your customer loyalty." OR "We had every intention of releasing this figure, but we have now decided that we will not bring it to market. We apologize to our customers who wanted to see this figure released." It would literally take them just a few moments. Kinda ****** to leave customers hanging.

This would have been the polite, "We care about our costumers." thing to have done.... :(

This. And lets remember that the 'delay' of Wonder Woman apparently deserved an explanation.

They'll do what they're gonna do but I feel zero positivity about this company anymore. They could announce Hicks 2.0 tomorrow - a figure that I really want - and I'd just roll my eyes. It would barely register a jot of excitement after this Ripley experience.

Likewise, honestly after this mess. I'm done with Hot Toys as a company. Once the premier label to look up to and adore the quality of their works, now they're just another corporate bunch of ass-clowns who think they can treat their original fan base like garbage because they've made it big regardless.

After this and the upcoming BTTF 2 (yeah right) licences, I'm done. Totally done.

PS: This thread is now at a point where I don't even check it once a day (like I used to) because it's filled with repeating jokes about this messed up release. It's really quite sad that we can only entertain each other with edited dialogue from a franchise Hot Toys don't care about.

Man, don't keep us from our dolls Hot Toys - we get very cranky! I kid, but come on guys. I understand the frustration, but seriously these are First-World problems. Pull back for a second. It's a doll. A doll. I know most of us manly men don't want to call it that, but that's what it is. I know in general it sucks to not get things that we've (mostly) partially pre-paid for in a timely manner, but I don't think there's any malice here. Yeah, the communication could be better, but when has it ever been great? Hot Toys has always seemed like a clandestine organization - we get **** when we get it. Venting anger and releasing frustration is understandable, but making statements like "after this I'm done with Hot Toys..." Come on man, like an addict we've all made that statement and then come crawling back on our hands and knees for another hit....

Venting anger and releasing frustration is understandable, but making statements like "after this I'm done with Hot Toys..."
...is exactly venting anger and releasing frustration.
so making statements that making statements is simultaneously right and wrong is illogical.
