1/6 Hot Toys - MMS677- Episode II: Attack of The Clones - Padawan Anakin Skywalker

I like it.

It is a come-down from the proto (aren't they always?). It isn't just the usual "softening" of the look in production, it's some subtle adjustments that look like were made to the original proto. Less furrow in the brow, those shiny eyebrows, face seems a little rounder, lips a little pouty. Less like Hayden from that time like the proto was. It's the usual from HT, well-crafted but "off".

That's not to say I'm not glad to have this figure in the display, I'm just a bit disappointed we didn't get that home run the proto teased us with.

Oh all right....the more I look, the more I like. Those movable eyes make all the difference in getting a unique, evocative look for the figure. Glad HT is adding them more often now.

I don’t recall the cloak in the movie looking like what HT did, so I made a new one. It’s a soft heavy material, I like the way it folds.

Wow this looks incredible. I've been considering just commissioning an 1/6 tailor to make one since I love how the robe looks in the film and Hot Toys just totally dropped the ball on theirs, this might just push me to do so.

I only just realised he isn’t simply wearing a poncho over his Jedi robes.

He’s got a fancy vest and scarf combo going on underneath that pokes out through the V slit of the poncho.

Made a second robe that’s more form fitting. First one looked too bulky, I learned a few things from that one and modified the pattern. It’s easier to make it big, screw it up and use it as a reference for the second one.

I shrunk the overall length and made the hood shorter.

I noticed in all the movies when they are standing up straight the capes actually never touch the floor, barely floating above it.

This shorter cape still works for poses like from that droid factory scene.
