That's the best pic, Coco. :clap :lol

Still curious about the 9.5 though.

:D

The 9.5? Had they made it so that the eyes were lit by a touch sensor instead of removing the skull I would have made it a solid 10. Other than that this thing is a perfect example of how 1:6 is done.

But Coco, what figure was a 10 for you...?

Vader's electronics alone must have sunk him down to a 4.5

:lol Vader's poor sound function was a disappointment but it not working right didn't detract from the figure. It would have added to it if it worked though.

The DX13 is a 10/10 figure in my book. :lecture

Watching him man handle the figure he gets early and probably returns since he doesn't collect SW - I'm guessing since his huge transformers collection.
Some poor soul may get that K2 he dings and scratches upnwith his wedding ring "metal... plastic... metal... clank clank clank 🙈

To correct you...I buy that VAST majority of my figures, including the Star Wars stuff. I don't collect it but that doesn't mean i don't enjoy the franchise. That being said, i do tend to buy them for review purposes because i enjoy reviewing them and like showing them to the people that appreciate them. When i'm done, as many can attest, i will sell the figure for exactly what i pay for them. I "man handle" all my figures AFTER spending EXTENSIVE time playing with them and learning the limits of them. I "man handle" them to let people see the tolerances that these very expensive figures have and with my large collection of Hot Toys, i have NEVER broken anything.

lol sorry... a guys gotta pay his bills :p

I totally understand, but is that the only way they offer to subsidize now?

That's going to hurt a lot of reviwers... a lot of posters all together.

Can you imagine if they did that here -- like the people that post really long soliloquys would have a commercial break or two. :lol

I always try to skip past the embedded ads before they hit. If it sends me to the ad anyway I usually just terminate the video.

Yeah, exactly. I mean, Youtube knows that's what's going to happen.

Perhaps its a way for them to control the length of the content. It must be expensive to maintain thousands of half-hour long reviews and such that really should be 6-9 minutes long. Maybe this will force people to edit their reviews and not simply go off on tangents and senseless chatter for minutes at a time.

There seems to be an attitude by youtube reviewers that what they are saying is truly important and doesn't require succinct dialogue and pacing and point. I think these new "commercial breaks" will really crack the reality of 'loyal followers' these guys think they have.

I'm not sure what you mean, they've had those types of ads for years now

I hate the 30 second ads that don't have the 5 second option, it feels like an hour.

Best youtube reviewer of any kind is jangbricks imo. It's like listening to Bob Ross paint a picture or Vin Scully do a ballgame.

Not the one in the beginning where you wait for the 5 second count down. I'm talking about actual ads within the content. During your review, two ads rans -- the whole screen went to commercial, and then after the ad came back to your review in mid sentence. I was shocked, and had never seen anything like it before. I haven't seen it since. Maybe YouTube was simply trying something out...?

No. That's been happening for ages now with longer videos. I watch a guy who does fan commentaries for movies, and those ads pop up every ten minutes or so.

I think the embedded reviews in question are a choice the reviewer makes to go for more ad revenue. So reviewers can spare you the hassle but instead go for the extra money. At the risk of losing views of course. When I see all those stops in the line often it's best to move on to another review.

Correct...they're pre-roll ads and have been around for a while. It lets you as the content creator put ads at various parts in the videos as long as the videos are over 10 minutes long. I haven't used them much but have started recently as ad revenue has dropped in general. So putting in more commercial spaces helps to offset that loss. It's unfortunate when i hear about people just skipping past them because it's how we as creators make our money. It's what helps fund the work we do and in my case, the figures i buy to provide reviews for people.

"extra money"? You mean bring us up to what we WERE making with standard ads. This isn't (at least on my part) an attempt to grab extra cash. Just as an example...if i was making $3 per thousand views...that has dropped down to about $1.50 per thousand views using just the standard placement of the ads. Putting the other ones in the videos as i've been doing recently, helps to offset that loss and get me back to "normal". Those numbers are ONLY examples but gives you an idea of what i'm talking about and why it happens.

Nobody is obligated to assist you in your attempt to make money as a youtube reviewer pal. Lots of folks do it just for fun and simply appreciate any money they accumulate as a bonus. If you don't think it's fair you should find another way to make money.

What a way of hijacking a figure thread... :monkey4

My K2 has shipped and is due on Wednesday. I'll try to post pics and a quick review here. Commercial free. :lecture
