Still have this gd thing paid off.

At this point I'm daring myself to commit to it.

The main character made last.

This is the most frustrating experience for me as a Flash fan, because everything related to this figure and this movie is one step forward and one step back.

Looking at the reviews, it’s an insanely impressive piece. Hot Toys clearly put a lot of time and money into making this figure, with such impressively engineered multi-piece headsculpts, custom LED body, exquisitely detailed suit with gorgeous blacklight piping, a spot-on Ezra Miller face, and modular lightning elements. It’s incredible…

… if it’s just standing there. Hearing and seeing how limited the articulation is dampens my enthusiasm quickly. A Flash that can’t strike a good running pose is a major problem, and I hear this one is LESS posable than their prior efforts. And the rubber suit is not forgiving, with major creasing and damage risks with even the minor poses it can pull off.

Seeing it, I also see all the problems of the movie and its actor amplified. Something about the head size just looks “off”, just as it did in the film with an oversized bike-helmet look. It just isn’t a good fit. And I can’t overlook the Ezra Miller factor. Those alternate mouth plates also look wrong, with strange cheek and jawlines.

So here we are, with my favorite DC hero, impressively rendered in static figure form with limited posing options, from a film I was lukewarm on, portrayed by an actor I’m not fond of.

At this moment, I pin my hopes on the Gunn-verse and deeply sigh knowing I’ll be waiting a very long time. But maybe next time I’ll be my actual favorite Flash, Wally, and it’ll be a better actor in a better movie.

This is an impressive display piece. But it’s not for me.

Yeah, I'm glad I don't display my figs in dynamic poses otherwise this would be a canceled preorder but it'll look pretty wizard on the shelf with my other Snyder figs in a museum pose.

Not a fan of these display bases either. They add way too much height for the shelves I use. Guess I'll get rid of that too. And the stupid ring.

The body proportions are all wrong, looks more like the show's Flash than the film. Needs more muscular build and v-taper body shape.

Yeah this is one time when I'm really glad they didn't copy the proportions from the movie, as he looked absolutely ridiculous there. The figure makes the costume and proportions look a thousand times better.

It's definitely unfortunate about the ugly bunching, but you can never leave these superhero figures in dynamic poses anyway. So I'm kinda used to that part of it.
